I'm just starting out and I feel the butterflies in my stomach when I think I need to charge $400 (time/materials) for the work. How do you avoid pricing too high when starting out? I've just been using half the shoe price plus 15% (covers shipping).
There’s not a one size fits all formula when starting out especially because as I’m sure you’re learning not every design will take the same amount of time. Moneys hard to talk about as well. You just need to have the confidence in your work to know that its worth it

Is the price you're guessing include the price of the shoe or just the artist work? Like when you said $285 for the black AF1's with Kakashi. Is that $285 just artwork or artwork and shoes?
Shoes always included. At the price screen when I guess my price it will always include the base cost in white

Contrary to popular belief, it’s quite the opposite. Being that they’re smaller they’re likely even harder to work on.
Great episode! All shoes look great imo. Some of the hours invested seemed a bit high, 120hrs is crazy to spend on a single pair of shoes

@@YECUsToMz you got an IG with them?? …. It’s hard to see the detail from the video. 150 seems crazy. I did full freehand airbrushed Alien custom with 50hrs invested. That was my most . Can’t imagine what 150 hr would be

I chose dead on the prices for the first pair but was way off on the $1500. I wish I could charge that much. The most I've ever charged was $300 but looking at these, it should have been twice that price. I hope to reach clientele that's willing to fork out a K's worth for a pair of shoes.
The 1500 pair was my custom 😊 and dude for sure you’ll be able to charge those prices! Just believe in your work in the best way possible and you’ll shoot for the stars man

Everyone always hating on fake shoes and shit but if you stop to think customs are pretty much “fake” if you think about it
Not even a little bit, they’re artwork. Fake shoes are gunna be cheaply made in a mass quantity. Custom shoes like these are hand painted , hand produced by an artist taking an authentic product and adding their own flavor to it.
