Yes, I use a cover on most of my planners and notebooks. They range from Galen Leather to Hobonichi to clear. Not only do the covers protect the planner/notebook, but it also makes them a bit more special. An added bonus is that most cases have a pen loop, so I can easily carry a pen with my planner/notebook. Another great episode, I love the new added details. throughout :)
Yes I use a cover for my A-5 notebook bullet journal. I made it myself from an embroidered panel and quilted body. Looking at the denim cover gave me an idea for using old jeans for my travel sewing kit. Thanks for another great show!
That is a nice change up with Lindsey stepping in for Mom!! I do not use a cove because my Hobo weeks slides into my pocket of my A5 leather 6 ring notebook so I can be versatile.
16:51 I keep adding to my order. Year 3 on a Cousin. I added a Weeks for my on the go planner last year. I’m trying an Avec for the second half of the year for work. This year I ordered a Cousin and two Weeks; the second Weeks is for work.
I sometimes use a cover when the planner or journal has a soft cover. It’s kind of nice to have pockets to place various and sundry things like stamps, stickers, blotters, etc. If the journal has a hard cover (like a Hon), then I don’t use a cover. The denim cover looks great, Brian!!
I have had covers on my planners except 2-3 years the Lett’s planner phase. But since 1990: Timetext, Filofax, dayrunner, my Boca cover, Galen Leather and Hobo covers. All help protect ripping the paper and covers help with writing on the lap a bit firmer especially during the Vancouver West Coast Express (soggy rainy season so cover protected somewhat so did a water resistant leather satchel) and Toronto Go train commuting chapters of my life…..
Lindsay, your comeback to Brian's opening joke was hilarious! No cover here, I keep having the idea of making them but those to-do items remain un-checked. Thanks for the great show!
Great show and a mean teaser. The first planner I used was a Jibun Tech which came with a nice cover. The Hobinichi A5 however, did not, hence my purchase of an inexpensive one for the 2024. Going forward, the Hon interested me as it seems to have a hard cover build into it, but since I have one already, no need for now unless I really get hooked on pets residing on bread products.
I currently have a clear cover on my stalogy, because it is softcover. I find that anything beyond that gets in my way. My other notebooks are hardcover so I don't feel the need for additional covers.
Hi Lindsay and Brian, I have a cover for my A6 and it protects it pretty well. My weeks is just fine as it is. I got the one with the mountains on it and I would never cover that! Thanks
Yes, I use covers! I bought the Dreamy Soda cover in 2023 and used it since then. It’s going to be my cover next year. I am replacing the cover on cover after 2 years. It typically travels with me but is mostly at home. I use my Cousin as a journal/for memory keeping. I ordered two Weeks and use clear covers for them. I’m using a cactus blossom over with cover on cover for my A6 Avec
I have a daily diary for one-page entries that is a Leuchtturm1917, but I have a personalized leather cover with my family crest wax seal on it. My daily journal is a disc notebook in a Lihit Lab canvas A5 cover that is a perfect cover for me.
i always use a cover on notebooks and planners. I also use covers when I read soft cover magazines and books as it helps retain not only the condition of the book but the potential nosiness of those around me.
It depends on the planner whether I use covers. On hardcovers I rarely do. But I love using my planner as a wallet. So when my planner is small like a pocket or weeks I tend to use one.
No cover for my 5-year Hobo, because it safely lives and works in a rolltop desk. But my lovely wife bought me a lovely leather folio for my A4 Rhodia notepads. Thanks, Sherry!
I don't need planner cover, as I use a Paperblanks hardcover planner, more as a journal. If Hobonichi made an A5 sized Weeks, I'd consider switching. I don't currently use a notebook cover for any of my active-use notebooks.
Notebook covers are my weakness. In addition to Hobonichi, I have covers from Galen Leather, Midori, Oberon Design, and from Ukraine. I use these covers for Leuchttrum, Moleskin, Midori, Galen Leather, and Hobonichi notebooks.
Happy Chocolate Milkshake Day! (First heard about it over a decade ago because it's a friend's son's birthday. 😁) Q: What do you call a mythical milkshake? A: Legendairy. Currently don't use or have something I'd like a cover for, but it's been tempting. Possibly as a treat when I move. 😉 Great to see you both! Hope you have a wonderful weekend! (Absolutely love seeing the Esterbrook pens! Been thinking about getting one done by the Esterbrook master. 😁)
Just like tattoos, covers seem a bit too permanent, so unless I found one that spoke to me so strongly that I was confident I’ll never want anything else (read: never going to happen), I’d rather just enjoy the natural wear that the covers accumulate.

how quickly you both forget where I am!!! lol In NY at Grandma's house, working hard decluttering 44 years of house, fabric and clothing!!
This was too funny, immediate follow. 😂
Do I use a cover? Yes, I use them to hold my papers. I also like how Lisa uses hers. I love the zippered ones to hold everything in place
LOVE the comments as a caption on the screen!! Lindsay is amazing!

I’ve got a pencil ✏️ case I used in primary school back in the 1970’s & still use to this day. In the shape of a pear of jeans 👖.

Nice to see Ms. Lindsey (sp?). Thanks for all your great photos. I use the Polar Bear Hobonichi cover I got last year. Love it.

I use something other than a Hobanichi, so no covers here. Thanks for another entertaining episode, Lindsey and Brian. See you in a couple of weeks.
This year was my first hobinichi year and I didn't discover them until May, but already got one for 2025. I found vintage leather covers for them.
Yes, sometimes it’s just a plastic cover, sometimes it’s the pale blue leather cover from a couple years ago.
I currently have a clear cover on my stalogy, because it is softcover. I find that anything beyond that gets in my way.
My other notebooks are hardcover so I don't feel the need for additional covers.

When I started bullet journaling I just had it plain, but now I am a Hobonichi girl, I use covers. I loved the new lined and blank notebooks.
I use leather covers on most of my journals. I’m not hobonichi person but have a number of unnamed brand leather covers/cases for journals and pens.
I have a daily diary for one-page entries that is a Leuchtturm1917, but I have a personalized leather cover with my family crest wax seal on it. My daily journal is a disc notebook in a Lihit Lab canvas A5 cover that is a perfect cover for me.

Yes that would be a great idea an Undated weeks sized book BRILLIANT !!!
I have a galen leather one that I use on a soft cover notebook, but I don't tend to cover hardcovers.

Who is the person that introduces the video at the beginning?
Is it the Dave guy that always answers the phone when I call??

I do use a cover on my planners - for me, it's just an aesthetic.
I have covers and I lean toward Galen leather but Hobinichi is in my future
I have a green leather cover that I used for awhile, but eventually I found it was too heavy for my hands, So I no longer use one.
My house got hit by a tornado on Friday, 4/13/2012.
