Oh my... if a fan recording sounds this good, I can't imagine how it must have sounded live in that outdoor setting. I would have been a blubbering mess. Just beautiful.
i agree with you. The orchestra seemed to be racing ahead regardless and at time poor Jackie and Jose were both playing catch up. Can anyone tell me did Jackie actually sing a duet with Jose?
For me, Katherine Jenkins is still the standard on Cinema Paradiso. And this orchestra is not good quality but you always take that chance when you're on the other side of the world and only have one day of practice.
Not to mention that this conductor had never worked with Jackie before. Plus the rain and the outdoor venue. Jackie had a lot of issues to conquer and she mostly did but the tempo issues were the worst. Some songs were too fast and some were too slow. Very inconsistent conducting.
The Orchestra only follows the conductor. He would be the one to blame for going too fast, and too loud. He controls all, or should if he is a good conductor.
i like both KJ and JME but Jackie was terribly let down by the orchestra. And the fact that the audience were having to endure sitting it out in pouring rain probably wasn't very pleasant for them either

Visual and Aural GRACE. Truly, WE are the LUCKY ones.
BEAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUTIFUL

A world class artist should have a world class orchestra in my opinion. I mean that for Jose Carreras as well.
Seeing her sing with such emotion, and expressive precision makes me so proud of her and the Orchestra needs to follow, not lead....
I totally agree it's all about the conductor except for the wrong notes I heard that's on the musicians.
