  • In this video Corin works on a Korean Hornbeam. During the video we tackle some carving on the tree to bring some character back into the stump that had been left by a previous trunk on the tree. After carving the bonsai Corin then works on creating a branch structure to this tree, completing the image and improving this deciduous bonsai.

You sure are the Bonsai master Corin , i hope Josh is well too ? I love the carving, something i would love to do on my Hornbeam which i think is a European ? Also i would like to do some on my privet but sometimes is so hard to decide how to start and how much to do, but these videos are an invaluable resource. Loved the talk through this time so interesting to listen to you talk through !!

Out of curiosity, you say it's not going to break the budget. How much do you typically charge for a session like this? I understand that it varies per tree but what kind of range are we talking

Is this the best time to carve deciduous trees?

  • @petergrisdale6797

What would be your preferred method to preserve the wood and stop it rotting ?
I’m not too keen on lime sulphur on deciduous trees also.
