My mad respect for this women to stay that calm. I just came here to watch mt Everest shorts because of a girl that freaked out totally and put all her team at risk
Indeed - İ think we all know that clip.. It was filmed immediately after an avalanche on Anapurna in 2022. I don't doubt that having a wall of snow & ice bearing down on her was a harrowing incident, as was seeing several other climbers swept away to their deaths right in front of her - but times of greatest danger are the most important times to keep a cool head & even temperament. But she was screaming, crying for others to "Go help them" - when they were beyond all help, being deceased already.. She caused others in her group to become terribly upset as well. She fell apart, endangering everyone on her team - the last kind of personality I'd want to take into the mountains with me. This lady was upset but kept her head.
It's called the 'Death Zone' because of the lack of oxygen in the breathable atmosphere when a certain altitude is reached above the earth's surface - above 25,000 feet or about 7,000 metres - not because climbers have accidents as shown in this video clip - although a lack of oxygen can lead to accidents ! Very dangerous sport, mountain climbing.
