8:39 So that was 1983, and it was a game against the Royals and Yankees. In the 9th inning George Brett hit a home run, that gave the Royals the lead. However Yankees manager Billy Martin asked the umps to look at Brett’s bat, because he thought he saw an excessive mount of pine tar. The umps basically thought he had too much pine tar, which was a rule back then. The umps then called George Brett out and he ran out of the dugout to argue with the umps as you saw there. But it turns out that the umps got it wrong and allowed to game to be played on another day in which the home-run counted and the Royals won.

So there is an unwritten rule with baseball that could be considered a cleating moment where you try to injury the first basemen by either putting cleats in to their ankle/leg or trying to step/kick the foot to cause injury or error
Not sure if you are aware of the rules of baseball but at that time in the eighties pine tar was not allowed

In the first clip, he didn’t like the umps strike and ball calls earlier in the at bat, so he kicked dirt on home plate because the ump had a bad zone and he put dirt on home plate because there wasn’t a strike zone

He threw it at him because they ran the safety squeeze, a play in which you bunt while the runner from third takes off while the pitch is being thrown almost like a steal but the batter makes contact with the bunt and takes the force out at first because usually theres no time to get the player at the plate. Some people think it is a tasteless way to score an easy run but hey that's baseball. Or maybe he didnt like him I don't know for sure lol
