Shireen Elaine Crutchfield is an American actress and singer. best known as the lead singer of the R&B trio The Good Girls from 1989 to the present. Crutchfield is also known for her acting roles as Jace in Dark Angel and Hot Boyz.
The Good Girls are a female R&B trio from Los Angeles, California, that emerged in the late 1980s, originally composed of Shireen Crutchfield, Joyce Tolbert, and DeMonica Santiago.
The Good Girls were recording artists for Motown Records, and were groomed as a contemporary version of The Supremes with a more urban sound. The group's debut album All for Your Love, influenced heavily by Teddy Riley's new jack swing movement, was released in 1989, producing the hit single "Your Sweetness" which peaked at No. 6 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart. Other notable singles included their cover version of "Love Is Like an Itching in My Heart," and "I Need Your Love". The girls also appeared on the 1990 debut single by MC Trouble entitled "(I Wanna) Make You Mine".
The group's second album Just Call Me was released in 1992 with lukewarm success. Two highlights for the group happened in 1990 when they went on Motown's MotorTown Tour and later that year, they joined New Kids on the Block's No More Games tour.
In 2018, The Good Girls reunited for a private performance and announced they were returning with new music. In March 2019, it was announced lead singer Shireen Crutchfield had decided to not continue with the reunion in favor of continuing her acting and modeling career and has been replaced by fellow actress-singer and high school friend Fawn Reed.
Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, she was raised in Los Angeles where she graduated from St. Bernard High School in 1988. She became the lead singer of the R&B group The Good Girls from the late 1980s through the early 1990s. She modeled for Nous Models in Los Angeles. She has made guest appearances on shows such as The Steve Harvey Show and The Jamie Foxx Show. She has been seen in a campaign for Ford vehicles. She has two children with actor Davis Henry, to whom she was married from 2001 to 2005.

We Love the 80s, 90s & 00s!
Shireen seems to have not been traumatized by the hype of the industry. It's like she and her group mates had their fun but always saw it for what it was and stayed level headed for the most part. The Good Girls had a short music career but one that was a much easier ride than most artists you hear of. Kudos to them for having logical and involved adults who cared about their well-being in regards to those contracts👏👏👏👏👏
I wish they would have went further but the music they made is still a part of my favorite music to listen to.
THOSE ARE MY GIRLS SHIREEN AND JOYCE... SHIREEN AND WORKED ON MY INDEPENDENT FILM IN 1993 THAT NEVER WAS RELEASED... AND AT ONE POINT JOYCE AND I WAS GOING TO WORK ON HER ALBUM PROJECT BUT OUR SCHEDULES WERE CRAZY AND I WAS LIVING ON THE EAST COAST AND SHE WAS LIVING IN Los Angeles ON THE WEST & TIME JUST WENT BY... THE GOOD GIRLS WERE ALWAYS SMART, VERY PRETTY, INNOCENT SEXY, COOL, CREATIVE & TALENTED AND THE FIRST TO OPEN THE DOOR FOR MOST YOUNG GIRL GROUPS INCLUDING THAT FIRST BRITTANY SPEARS HIGH SCHOOL GIRL IMAGE TO FOLLOW... THEY WERE AHEAD OF THE GAME, THEIR LABEL DID'NT PUSH THEM OR REALLY GET IT... GOOD PEOPLE, MISS THOSE DAYS, HOPE ALL 3 ARE DOING WELL - 1/3/23 - LANCE ROMANCE😎
You ever releasing that movie ?
There was a lot of competition as well
IT’S A SHAME they didn’t promote the Just Call Me album. It was their “grown up” album. The harmonies were so lush, production on point and Joyce leading on songs gave them a more mature sound. Maybe if they released “It Must Be Love” as the first single it may have kept folks attention
Shireen been FOINE 4ever! Such an underrated Talent & Beauty.
Glad to see she’s still working.
Motown stop putting their focused on other artists and only focused on Boyz II Men in which that’s sad
Wow very sad, especially when they had a talent like these women
I wondered is that what happened to Shades ! Another unrated awesome 👏 girl group from Motown !
Thanks for catching up with Shireen. And for reminding me how DOPE “Just Call Me” is!

Oh my goodness, this woman is gorgeous.
Dedicated lover of R&B music and artists keeps me happy seeing few who are still around. Just hearing their experiences is so interesting. Many of my favorite female singers haven't been treated well at all in the music industry. Sharon Bryant, Barbara Weathers, Traci Spencer, Milira, Jacci McGhee & Valerie Watson (Club Nouveau) were few of my favorites. Wanted to hear so much more from them. Sam Cooke educated black artists to control their own music publishing. But, of course our artists should too write and produce their own material to reap those benefits. Thanks Halftime Chat for these classic interviews. 💯💯💯💯💯💯
😊🙏🏾
Really surprised that Prince didn't come chasing after The Good Girls.
They were pretty AND talented without him. You know he didn't like that.
They're black.
It's a shame they didn't do a third album as Motown over Europe/UK especially did promote that second album . "Just Call Me" picked up quite a bit of club play here & I saw the video alot as well at the time .
They the bomb
Hard 2 Stay Relevant in that Biz when he ask what Happened. 1st Album Really on 2 Hits. 2nd Album & i was in Love with All 3 & I'm just seeing this 92' Call Me in 2023. At least they probably didn't get "Robbed" by the Labels!
Okay I am on the floor LMAO. I hope people caught it when Shireen said there were 4 Good Girls in the group and Nnamidi looked surprised. Shireen named everybody and included the manager who is a male named Jonathan Clark who could no longer manage them. Nnamidi was like ohh with an awkward look on his face. 🤣🤣
😂😂😂
Great spot 😄
Not on the floor! lol. I love it.
I was weak 😂😂😂😂
I saw them in concert back in the day. Pretty kool group and attractive young women
She is so beautiful 😊
Didn’t even know they had a second album all I remember was the first album the two singles and then they was on MC Trouble (rest in peace to her) and that’s all I remember of the Good Girls
Nice interview but you have to get the other 2 members of the Good girls to give their view point on the group??
They have been approached since I started back in 2020. I'm still cool with Joyce and hopefully they will agree in due course
She was 100$% correct, you have to have the right "team" together to make things work.
I loved the Good Girls and have both of their Albums
This is sad 😢
