I love this channel. I'm 62 and been a royals fan my entire life. We need Ned, Frank, Gordo on here. Watching George play is something younger people will never get to experience. It honestly was played the way it was meant to be played.
We need a Salvy & Bobby Witt Jr on the same show talking about the turn around and spark from last year to this year...maybe get Lugo,Ragens, Singer to join in also!
Not a Royals fan but as a baseball fan, how can you not appreciate George Brett. He was in his prime when I fell in love with baseball and guys like him, Gwynn, Carew and others of that ilk, they were the ones who made a little kid like me be fascinated with the science of hitting a Major League pitcher. Don’t get me wrong, I’m equally fascinated by superior pitching & pitchers too. But there was always something about players who hit for average rather than power. I hope Bobby Witt pays close attention to Brett’s advice. Kid has HOF written all over him.
I grew up idolizing George. Always wore number 5 since I was in T-ball. As a 50 year old lifetime Royals fan I am glad to see the Royals having success again after the 14 and 15 seasons and it looks like Bobby Baseball may be the next in line to be the man all the kids look up to like I did George!
As I child growing up in KC I loved George Brett. I’m an older man and I still love George Brett. The most feared hitter in baseball for years. The only player to win a batting title in 3 different decades.
George Brett should be the next Royals manager!!! If anything his stories would keep everyone so loose and his love for the game is honorable. I met George once and did get his autograph. I love him. Thanks for winning the '85 World Series!!
I wrote Mr. Brett in 1989 as part of a class project. He was my favorite athlete/role model when I was a kid. He actually wrote me back and sent a signed autograph picture. I live in the Quad-Cities Illinois now, but I will forever be a Kansas City sports fan. I wore #5 in every sport I ever played. Thank you, Sir, for setting a high standard. God Bless.
Royals fan since the early 70s. George Brett my favorite of all time. Absolute legend. Spent many a summer replicating his stance and hitting style in wiffle ball…lol. Love his view on baseball of today. Agree with him totally. Eric and Mous. Loved watching you play. Great podcast. Keep up the great work
This podcast flowed very well, guys. I’ve never met George, but always enjoy listening to his interviews. Being born in 1975 and growing up northeast of KC, George was my first favorite MLB player. I loved how he played the game with passion and grit. Super clutch when it came down to being in a position to win the game. Once George retired, there were a lot of talented players that were on the Royals roster. It was a pleasure to see Moose and Hoz (along with several others) come up and help turn the Royals into winners again. Thanks to all involved in both of KC’s world championships.
MR. ROYAL HIMSELF! MY ALL TIME FAVORITE ROYAL! GEORGE BRETT! JUST ONCE I WOULD LOVE TO MEET HIM! I have watched this one several times just I just love what you all are doing. I purchased tickets for StL vs. KC next month so my son and I can enjoy the game together! And we are right behind the Royals dugout! It should be a good time!
George Brett was my Hero growing up. I played baseball thru HS and I always wore #5. I am from Texas and a Rangers fan, but George Brett made me a Royals fan as well back in the day and I still follow the Royals, just not as closely. But Thanks George for being one of the best to ever play
@@DigginDeepPodcast As a lifelong Royals fan, Lo-Caine, Dyson, Yost or Ben Zobrist. As a baseball fan, I know Moose spent time on the Angels so Trout would be interesting. Just a few off the top of my head.
@DigginDeepPodcast Mike trout would be a good guest hell of a ball player just unlucky with injury be nice to see his perspective on his game trials and tribulations
I saw George Brett, in person, play as a rookie. Saw him several more times. He played hard. Not flamboyant, but he played hard. Watchin him hit, he was one of the few that you just always felt, this pitcher is at a disadvantage. I never enjoyed watching anyone hit more than I loved watchin George. So much respect for the way he played the game.
Great pod cast.. Met George in 1990 as a minor league umpire at Royals spring traing, and he was generally interested in how things were going in the minor leagues...thanks GB a memory I will never forget! ##5KCRoyals
Went to the MLB ASG fan fest hosted by the San Diego Padres in 2016. Won a George Brett signed baseball. A couple days later at the ASG Hos and Salvy went back to back with homers. They know the big stage. 👏🏻💙
Loved hearing the stories about Ace.. I miss the fire and intensity that he brought . Was truly electric to watch. Brett complaining about the lack of bench clearings is also classic! Salvy wanted a piece when Witt was hit when trying to get the cycle and I know Ventura would've had a rib ball loaded up.
If I ever could meet George Brett I would tell him my grandma would have adopted him. She had a dog named Brett, and even had a white cat named Frank after Frank White. She was a huge Royals fan.
What a great show! Lifelong Padres fan, but who doesn't love listening to such great stories from a great story teller. And what an awesome ball player.
As Brett Pener's brother in law it makes me happy to see all you guys give love to the clubbies. Thanks, Hoz, by the way, for the shout-out at my wedding. It was a huge hit. I got two boys of my own now as well. Stay safe, boys. Outstanding episode. I haven't laughed that hard in a long time.

George Brett is such a cool dude. Back in the day, maybe 2003/2004 my little league team played his sons, and they were down players so someone on our team played for his so we could play, and as a thank you, George gave all of us a signed card of his
Fortunate to be a very small part of George, Eric and Mikes lives during spring training during 2015, 2016 and a few years after. All three exceptionally nice, very respectful and incredibly funny. Consider myself lucky to have driven them around on the golf carts as one of the off duty police officers. Best to all of them.
I really enjoyed this. It was really neat to hear the stories and all of the conversation. I had the pleasure of meeting George Brett at his house probably a little over 10 years ago. I won’t get into the story why I was there briefly. But it was truly a pleasure. And then when he found out that I played softball in college with Whitey Herzog’s son Jim and we worked next to each other, it was gold.

It’s not easy to get them to ‘buy in’ but if you can connect with even one player, you’ve paid it forward👍🏼
Keep up the great content 👍🏼 Best show out there guys👍🏼
we appreciate your comment and feedback! Glad to have you here, coach 👊 one of our ways to pass that on to the young guys is you! We love having coaches and educators here, welcome to the club!
I could listen to you guys for DAYS!
love it! who would you want to see on next as a guest?
@@DigginDeepPodcast I'm an older Royals fan and I hate to pick an ex-royal, but John Mayberry or Willie Wilson would be pretty good. I've heard Jaime Bluma and he's a pretty good interview. That's a tough one, there are so many.
This was over an hour but a fantastic podcast
I was wondering what you two were up to! Nice show gentlemen...cool to see your perspectives, and a sneak peek into the clubhouse. That '85/'15 reunion sounds pretty neat, have fun. Thanks for the show
George Brett was Mr. Clutch! Never seen anyone come thru like him till mo Vaughn for the red sox
Them hemroids are a pain in the butt, but at least all the pain is behind you. I remember watching that world series.
🤣
20 minutes in this a great show 👌 👏
Great episode guys! Now I want to see Gordo on the next episode
he's definitely on our list!
Please in the name of baseball, make more similar content! Great video, amaizing to see and hear George talk about baseball. Baseball is behind on media content, Bauers channel is every young pitchers dream, there is no excelent channel for hitting, players/legends talk. Thx for making this.
George Brett rules
Best hitter I've ever seen!
You never saw Tony Gwynn play?

31:57 it’s funny the three guys with the hugest average are the lowest swing speeds. Dorks are taking over the game
How are you not motivated after listening to George Brett?

First time listening to. I am impressed. Will definitely spread the word!
