Kingsmotorbikes have trike setups now, 4 stroke motors with kits specifically for the Schwinn trikes. Though they rely on a rag joint to hold the sprocket on a wheel and i'm no fan of these spoke destroyers. Kind of impressive that carb will run without dripping gas everywhere at that angle I will say this, Lynn at Custommotoredbicycles (now MBRebel) will never steer you wrong. She's always been my go to for parts since i started building these back in 2010 or so. She had a lot of the hard to find and rare stuff, plus her own designed stuff
Can't thank my brother in law, Ed, enough. He had a lot of great ideas ie,,,grinding the sprocket, building the mount and setting the timing to name a few. Notice in the video "I did this or that" it should say "we did that" thanks Ed. And thanks to "toy truck" whoever you are.
Nooooo after testing all day and even trying what he did. With no luck and a back fire. Trying flipping the coil wires around as well It’s dirt simple. Do nothing don’t change the magnet. Time Just flip. The back and blue wires
Good idea, i googled this because my father is a mechanic that fixes old engines and i'm into my mechanics and what not. He got an old British 2 stroke pedal bike in and for the life of me i couldn't get it going, my dad took one look at it and said "the engine looks like it runs backwards" and what do you know i spin it the other way and it fires right up. I have never seen or even heard of that before, i knew in theory running backwards would be easy if set up right but i have never in my 20 odd years seen it before and i have worked on a lot of engines. Maybe someone will find this trike in 50 years and be as dumbfounded as i was
Don’t change the magnetic timeing. Just flip the back and blue wire!!!!!! solution. The crank key way is set for 15 degrees And the magnet is also cut at 15 degrees At top dead Centre the magnet sits level. Soo it’s actually set at 0 degrees. But only 15 after the swing. Of the hammers of the magnets the magnet is north on one side and south on the other. Soo you also hafe to flip the coil direction. Or it will be trying to fire at the bottom of the stroke Hope this helps. Took me way to long to figure this out this video added to my confusion I’m happy I didn’t start cutting keyways Also that’s why in this video You just flipped your clock upside down to correct the polarity of the magnet From 1 to 7. Is just upside down 😅. I thought I could flip the magnet but both keyways being offset real brakes the timeing.
Used a front center hub motor on mine and it pulls like a Missouri Mule. All electric, 1200 watts and 52 volts and we are rolling faster than I will ever ride it!👍🤠🇺🇸🙏✝️
What was the reasoning running it backwards? Clearance issues? I'm trying to figure it out I wanna build me a trike I was also thinking about using a sprocket tht bolts on to the hub idk I'm just trying to figure it out haha
Hey man great job... I'm trying to do it myself... Can you tell me where I can get your sprocket setup?.. Is it three separate sprockets on a shaft?>>> If so where can I get it... Thanks ... Tony
I like your video. Did you buy the 2 cycle motor to specifically go between seat and handlebar? I am having a hard time finding a supplier for a kit to go on a schwinn meridian. Did you buy kit for trike or was this a bike kit modified? Thanks
John Tollen Hey use an automatic Go cart motor with electric start and be sure you have a way of derailing bicycle chain while motors running or you'll cut your legs off lol
I could not mount the engine where I wanted it without running backwards. Normally the motor would be up front with the chain on the left going back to the rear axle. I mounted it in the rear with the chain going forward to the rear axle and on the right side of the motor. If the case around the chain could be turned to the rear non of this would have been necessary.
lo que yo no puedo comprender estos porque he visto muchos videos de de triggers y triciclos con motor pero no he visto videos donde se monten y los prueben jalando
Just buy an automatic Go cart motor some have electric start but I would maybe go with a heavier axl also have to derail bike chain while gas motor is running.

Easy..JUst turn your engine around..
Amazing.. Had no idea you could change the direction of the engine. Woodruff key. Thanks for the video.
I'm about to put an engine on my cignal velo, this was very informative. thanks
Wouldn't it be easier to flip the rotating magnet backwards and use the woodruff key?
I think this should work.

You're the only one I've seen build one that had to get the motor to turn backwards.
Don’t change the magnetic timeing.

I still don't see why he had to reverse the engine
Very well done.
Witam z Polski mam pytanie czy taka pozycja silnika (gaźnika) nie zakłóca poziomu paliwa w gaźniku pozdrawiam
Nice video

I like this good job but does it matter that the carb is not level
Charles Lewandowski i assume aslongs its up right its fine.

Good job. You left out that you need to get the bike rolling before you let out the clutch or the clutch won't take it.
I'm building the same bike and build that you did. How do you get the free wheel off and on in ten minutes ?

I'm looking to make one this summer. but I want to put it in the normal spot with the sprocket welded to the left of the other sprockets.. hm.
Ty buddy

Is it still running?

howd you get it to run backwards
Just put a 4-stroke engine on that the CVT clutch
I have burned my legs all the way"
You could have just used a 420 motorcycle chain, which is way stronger.
Motered bikes . com is good people...
That's a lot of work just because you assume a woman might have a little boo boo but good job I guess.
