A couple years ago, I was in a *REALLY* dark place. Seriously thinking about... *doing it.* I reached out to my best friend. He told me that he loved me and that he'd miss me terribly if I "left." And he sent me this song. He also sent me a Motörhead song. Won't say the name, but for all of us metalheads who are in a dark place... *They're just a bunch of clowns, don't let 'em grind ya down!*

Never heard of this before. My honest opinion, one of the best metal compositions I have heard. All instrumentation in perfect harmony, masterful solos and riff trade-offs, drums bring it life and energy, and bass ties it all together with the undertones of darkness. The vocals are okay. I want to hear passion, I want to hear a force to be reckoned with! I know Dio spoiled me, but come on! Sounds like you're about to sing " Hey nonny-nonny". I can't stop listening though, maybe they'll grow on me
maybe it's just the knee-jerk reaction; I didn't like Morgana Lefay the first time I heard em, but a year later I found myself singing "rumors of rain" and looked them up again to find they are awesome.

It's hard to get used to him but when you start really clicking with the themes of Manilla Road's songs his voice just naturally fits in a way that I don't think any other vocalist's could. I can't help but imagine him as a venerable old wizard of metal or something.

The whole American power metal of the 80s is wonderful. Manilla Road, Queensryche, Savatage, Manowar, Chastain, Banshee, The Rods, Neon Cross, Fates Warning, Virgin Steele, Medieval Steel, Jag Panzer, Omen, Saint... they are a really masterpiece.
