I really appreciate the contrast in both characters' animation style. Nutcracker is wooden and stone faced whereas Gingerbread Man follows the Ren and Stimpy principle of having a new expression every frame. A great start to the era!

@@HektorScratch Hard disagree. This battle being animated with basic ragdolls and expressions does not really allow creativity to shine. It's very limiting and nothing about this seems "memeable". Good battle tho, just not a fan of this animation.
@@Yayday4evr That's a fair opinion, though again, hard disagree lol. I think that the difference in approach to the way both Gingy and the Nutcracker are animated is creative in its own right and definitely one of the battle's highlights; what with the latter having more jagged and jank movements. It's a small touch but when compared to how the former is animated with much more expression and fluidness it shows the thought that was put into it. And like I mentioned before, the Gingerbread Man's expressions and liveliness is one of the many reasons I replay his verses. To add on, the animation was done in a week, so I find that incorporating the principles of animation like this under that kind of time crunch to be very impressive.

Dang what a way to start the year off. That was such a unique way to do the battle. You've probably read enough of my comments to know where this is heading. Great battle, can't wait to see what you have planned out this year.
I saw that Krampus joke coming a mile away, and it was still hilarious. The Shrek jokes were also solid, although equally as predictable. Gingerbread stood no chance in this battle. Every cheap shot on the Nutcracker after that felt insignificant.

In the Krampus movie, Krampus uses a hook called the Ketkrókur (the Meat Hook in English) and tries to lure misbehaving families with one of his gingerbread men (Lumpy, Dumpy, or Clumpy); in this case, the line has a double meaning to it. The Nutcracker is not only saying that he can carry a literal hook under the powers of Krampus, but also for the fact that his lines can only catch attention when he's under the power of Krampus (which also links back to Krampus luring misbehaving children with the gingerbread men on a hook).

The nutcracker won the game hands down. Best flow and the best lines and I love some of his disses. I did love one of the gingerbread man's lines though. The flute into A minor was gold. Best diss out of the entire battle.

Ok, I don’t know if anyone caught this but I love it! The line “riverside dinner for a fox to eat” is mostly likely a reference to a puzzle from game theory. It’s like the prisoners dilemma, except with two gingerbread men and a fox. The fox says that if each one chooses to sacrifice a limb, they lose a limb. If they both sacrificed the other, then they each lose three limbs. If one sacrifices the other and the second sacrifices himself then only one survives. In the end the gingerbread man loses three limbs as another reference to this!
Also a reference to the gingerbread man story. He runs away because he doesn't want to be eaten but tries to cross a river which leaves him unable to move and a fox comes along and eats him.
