Thank you for this well done review video; now I know what to look for in my next pair of hiking trousers. I mostly do day hikes and trail work, so a review of day packs as a candidate for your next review video would be very much appreciated! Thanks again for your high quality videos!
In the winter or for colder hikes I’m a legging person and love the Athleta Highland Hybrids and Fjallraven Abisk. I like the reinforced butt and knee areas since I am often kneeling and sitting on rocks and such so they really hold up! But once the weather is warmer I switch to my Sierra or Old Navy running shorts or a really old pair of ExOfficio pants treated by Insect Shield. With so many pants on the market it’s actually super easy to find clothes secondhand and that’s actually where I first found many of these and then ended up buying a second pair new after liking them
Hi,,, I had a lot of pants left over from the military,, so I kept a handful with the legs,, and a handful made into shorts,, because of the pockets available on them,,, like the video, have a great day 😎
I love hiking in leggings and most have pockets now which I love. I'm really liking the Patagonia pack out leggings. I'm tempted to try the ferrosi leggings. Lots of good reviews.
Thanks for the awesome reviews! Regarding the pants, do you think the Outdoor Research or the Outdoor Vitals pants would provide decent protection from mosquitos? I'm always looking for that in summer, and I don't like hiking with shorts, so the granny rain pants (haha) solution would probably be a bit much for me.
The outdoor research pants are lightweight enough to wear in the summer but mosquitoes would bite right through them. Unless you spray any pant with permethrin they’ll bite you through most regular fabric pants. The outdoor vitals pants will be too hot to wear during our Oregon summers.
@@HikeOregon that's really good information, thank you! I typically run warm, but don't wear shorts due to sensory issues, so lightweight is key for me. I'll plan on treating with permethrin.
@@HikeOregon I hike all over central Oregon in my outdoor vitals Satu pants during summer. With the vents on the sides it really dumps heat very well. I don’t like wearing shorts to often as I can’t wear most sun screen so I really rely on light weight breathable pants and sun hoodies during summer so I don’t burn.

Awesome!! I’ll put packs on the list.
Thank you, very helpful. I am 5'6" and also hate having a gap above my shoes.
Yea the Lululemon leggings run long, I love that!
