It is singing about Him, or about Her? The creative force behind everything we perceive as reality is, in fact, IT. Our soul is an emanation from IT, and same as its source, it has no gender. There are many Gods out there, with some of them helping humans on this planet make advancement with their civilization while others, the Gods of religion, are seeking to control and manipulate them through their intercessors, the priests. One day this truth will set everybody free from the mental trap of belief.
