I've just tried the free version, been playing for like 2 hours or so. I've been trying all amp sims and doing all sorts of tweaking and experiments with them over the past 2 years. But for the first time ever, I'm just loading a preset and it's good to go, even on hi-gain amps and yes even on fender breakup cleans. Doesn't feel or sound weird, I don't feel the itch to tweak it endlessly and go through hundreds of IR combinations and I don't feel the need to eq shape it for hours to chase some sound. I sort of hoped it would be this great, but I'm still surprised. Needless to say, this will probably be my main tool for guitar tones both live and in the studio. Now I just need to figure out how I'm gonna build my live rig for this and get the full TONEX asap! Also looking forward to check other people's profiles on ToneNet. I'll be posting some guitar videos using this, hopefully by the end of this year. AmpliTube TONEX rocks man, everybody needs to get on it NOW! \m/
It's seriously so good. Also using their VIR with an AI matched amp has been my favorite thing. I LOVE having the option to turn off someone else's cab/mic placement match to instead use IK's VIR whenever I need to 😀

I got the Tonex Regular version, thank you for having Edu discount as it was only way I could afford. The tones included sound great, I enjoy a lot. I'm wondering when we adjust the post Bass/treble/gain etc, is it specific to the amp. Or it's the same adjustment for every other amp. and does nothing to do with the real amps. gain/treble/bass etc? Either way it sounds great.

I'm using the free version ATM and it seems that if you want to edit a FX pedal, (an overdrive for example) you are not able too. I loaded two instances, one with just a pedal so I can access the edit page (pedal Knobs) and one instance with the amp and cab.
This is how it is supposed to be. Tonex is giving you only the individual tone models (plus EQ, Noise Gate, Compressor and Reverb). If you want to chain two models, you can do that with todays update of Amplitube or in the DAW.
You can use the 20 Tone Models that come with the free version for free and without a time limit (as well as the 20 user Tone Models you're able to download). Or you can get the Tone Models in each of the other versions and also with those you can capture your own gear and download unlimited user Tone Models. amplitube.com/tonex
Hi! The question that remained is whether it is possible to use the midi pedal on Tonex? Or do we just model or download presets and to use the midi pedal you have to transfer them to Amplitude?

When will AmpliTube be updated so we can use TONEX captured pedals as proper pedals in the signal chain? As of now, we can only use TONEX in the amp block, which means pedal captures are unusable unless you use a DAW and route the output of a TONEX pedal from one plugin instance to another plugin instance with the amp.

@@docw85 My understanding is it could actually be just fine but it would just require extra work on the app development end. For example, Universal Audio has gotten around the limitations of androids suboptimal audio drivers, and then there are full featured DAW apps like Cubasis and Zen Beats that appear to have no latency issues with real time monitoring from a midi keyboard. IK would just need to invest some time refreshing what they started a long time ago with Amplitube UA for Android. Just because it would take some extra work does not mean it is not possible.
@@Tiger1016. of course it's possible, but too niche to invest time and money in. Then you have compatibility problems with the thousands of completely different android devices or there etc.
@@docw85 I am not a pro on app development, and I maybe know the basics enough to try to play arm chair quarterback. I think it is safe to assume your outlook has the most merit just by observing the lack of any other company trying to make a real attempt at a guitar tone solution for Android. I doubt that it is because the opportunity is too niche since that would conflict with all of the development that has been rationalized for ios solutions while Android has such overweight market share, so the barrier is probably more aligned with the inability to develop a worthy solution that does not suffer from compatibility challenges. However, my intuition suggests that an Android solution could be much closer to being rationalized these days and the real reason for the hold back at the end of the day is just because of embedded predisposed notions from development teams from challenges with Android from years ago that are largely irrelevant now.
It varies depending on your system and what level of Tone Model you choose to create. Once captured you don't need to do it again, so if you use the Advanced setting and get the most robust model I'm sure you'll be happy with the results.
Does this capture process only work "ONLINE"? Meaning, do you have to be connected to their "Machine Modeling’s deep neural network software" ? In short can you build captures/profiles offline???
Don't understand why there are knobs to turn if Tone Modeler is a amp/stomp capture. If you move gain for example, the sound of the gain stage is no longer as compliant with the real amp... no ? For example you load the preset "Black Angus", the Gain is centered. If I move it to the left to have a Crunchy sound. Is the sound still as "real" as it should be on the real amp ? To me, there must be many presets for a single amp, no ? If not, Amplitube 5 is already doing the job ! .... I guess I need more explanations !
Those adjustments do not take away from the realism of the Tone Model. You can try the free CS version which has many models that you can keep using in your projects and you can pick 20 free user models too. Play with them, adjust them, and you can hear for yourself and see if you prefer these Tone Models.
@@ikmultimedia Thanks for response. I've tried it and compare with AT5 : I think it's a little better and there is more bass signal in general. But for the moment, I have stabity issues with Reaper and W10, especially when toogle between AT5 and Tonex to compare : Reaper simply crashes when I come back to Tonex (and it usually never crashes !). I've read same issues on the net, hope you'll fix it soon ! ;)

No. You will need the Tonex Capture box. The cool thing is, that you don't have to have any mics or cabs. You can use just your amp, audio interface, and capture box.
@@hakk3r This is a bit misleading, the capture box does not do what was asked at all. You can basically replicate the sound of your amp with the software, by capturing it. You also don't need the box and can just use your own interface if you already have one.
@@docw85 I don't believe anything I said is misleading at all as I basically touched on each point you said. The capture box is not an interface, it is what distributes the tonal qualities of your amp into the interface which send it to the software. You need an interface AND the capture box because of it's "reamp" feature. It also has an attenuator which most interfaces do not come with. You must have a reamp box AND an audio interface or else capturing will more than likely not work properly.
Not sure thias is monitered by IK? There is a bug in Studio One, if you close the session and open it again the ToneX amp models are not engaged, you need to click on the amp head to get them active. This is a pain if you forget or have multiple ToneX plugins on different tracks and need to click on each amp to make it active. I forgot to click on them a few times doing final mix bounce downs then needed to re-do the mix bounce.

But..Why should I capture my Fender Twin or Marshall or effects if it's already done in Amplitube 5? Other than capturing my own rig, whats different than Amp5. I thought that was the whole point of Amp5. Models of existing gear. What am I missing?
AmpliTube and TONEX are two different products using different technologies: AmpliTube is made using analog modeling technology while TONEX uses a new technology called AI machine modeling ( www.amplitube.com/ai ). While analog modeling simulates the behavior of the whole circuit of the amp - with all the knobs, switches, buttons and their interactions - AI machine modeling gives an ultra-realistic simulation of the rig with a specific knob settings. So it's not that one technology is "better" than the other, it depends of what the final user's needs are: full editing and customization versus accuracy in getting a specific sound. Using them together gives of course the best of both worlds and a super-powerful amp-sim system. The two products are also different because AmpliTube can simulate the entire set up used in guitar recording (multiple serial and parallel rigs combining amps, all type of stomp effects, post effects, cabinets and microphones, etc.. with full editing down to the single gear), while TONEX is dedicated to simulates just amp, cabinets and certain type of pedals (distortions, overdrive, fuzz, EQ, boost) in each of their combinations. However TONEX can be used inside AmpliTube, as a sub-system of amps and pedals, again to have the best of both worlds.
Tonex is fantastic, but i'm curious as to how we can upload presets to ToneNet from Tonex? I've been searching and searching but can't find anywhere how to upload to ToneNet through Tonex. Also, when using Tonex through Amplitube 5 Max, I can use the amp, but can't seem to disable the cab from Tonex. How do I disable the cab from Tonex through Amplitube? I would like to be able to use the studios, rooms, cabs, and speakers from Amplitube on a Tonex captured amp, but I can't seem to find a way to accomplish this.
Hi, from the TONEX application you will see the Tone Model Info pane on the right. Click the three dots and choose "Upload" to upload your TONEX Tone Model to ToneNET. To disable the TONEX Tone Model cabinet when instantiated in the amp section of AmpliTube 5, there's an icon near the top right of the amp section (above the main amp graphic) that looks like a knob. Click that and you can disable the cab that's in the TONEX Tone Model so you can use AmpliTube 5's cabs/rooms/etc.
How can you add a modeled pedal in the effect chain in AmpliTube? I can only add pedals in the amp section and that's frustrating as I would like to use an AmpliTube amp model

Hi. Can anyone help me with this one. I got the free version of Tonex . Did try a few amps already. My point is I couldn't find any delay , choruses, , phasers etc. stomp boxes. There's plenty distortion stomp boxex though.
Greetings! I am loving Tonex so far. However, I am having a bit of an issue. I profiled one of my amp and had it saved to my library. I uploaded the profile to ToneNet but accidentally named it wrong. I accidentally downloaded the ToneNet profile, so I went online and removed the profile from ToneNet. However, now when I try to upload it it gives me an error message saying that I have to be the original user that created it. But I AM the original user that created the profile. Is there a reason why ToneNet cannot recognize my username that way I shouldn't run into this issue of reuploading it? Why was my original file for my profile removed when I accidentally downloaded it from ToneNet? How can I access the files externally so I can give this profile to other people? How can you guys help me make this profile available to reupload again without me going through a 10 hour training process? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

In principle a good idea but still needs a lot of improvements. My biggest complaint is, that you can only capture a single preset not even a complete amp channel, much less a complete amp. Second complaint is the quality of the Premium files, most of them simply sound unbalanced and wrongly adjusted to me. Which even more concerns the user files on Tonenet/Tonex. With some experience and proper adjustment you can create really good and authentically sounding models, but I personally only find about 5% of the Premium files and maybe 1% of the user files really usable, the rest is unbalanced, wrongly captured, noisy or has other issues. This is not much for a - so called - revolutionary system in my opinion. In Amplitube the ToneX models should have an option, to use the captured cabinet or to deactivate it, at the moment you have to capture a separate file without cabinet, maybe even more important, Amplitube also needs an additional option to use ToneX stomp boxes in the pedals section and in combination with another ToneX amp model in the amp section too, which at the moment is impossible, as a ToneX model is always seen as amp only. Within ToneX I also miss this option, to combine a separate ToneX Stop model with a ToneX amp model in the signal chain. Good start, but time will tell, where this journey leads...

Yeah, I am using the Max version and it works the same, to get around this problem, I open 2 plugins, one for pedal and another for amp+cab,

You would need to install TONEX CS (free) too in order to try Tone Models.

No, the capturing is not done online it is done locally on your computer.

But..Why should I capture my Fender Twin or Marshall or effects if it's already done in Amplitube 5? Other than capturing my own rig, whats different than Amp5. I thought that was the whole point of Amp5. Models of existing gear. What am I missing?
AmpliTube and TONEX are two different products using different technologies: AmpliTube is made using analog modeling technology while TONEX uses a new technology called AI machine modeling ( www.amplitube.com/ai ). While analog modeling simulates the behavior of the whole circuit of the amp - with all the knobs, switches, buttons and their interactions - AI machine modeling gives an ultra-realistic simulation of the rig with a specific knob settings. So it's not that one technology is "better" than the other, it depends of what the final user's needs are: full editing and customization versus accuracy in getting a specific sound. Using them together gives of course the best of both worlds and a super-powerful amp-sim system.
The two products are also different because AmpliTube can simulate the entire set up used in guitar recording (multiple serial and parallel rigs combining amps, all type of stomp effects, post effects, cabinets and microphones, etc.. with full editing down to the single gear), while TONEX is dedicated to simulates just amp, cabinets and certain type of pedals (distortions, overdrive, fuzz, EQ, boost) in each of their combinations. However TONEX can be used inside AmpliTube, as a sub-system of amps and pedals, again to have the best of both worlds.

Tonex is fantastic, but i'm curious as to how we can upload presets to ToneNet from Tonex? I've been searching and searching but can't find anywhere how to upload to ToneNet through Tonex.
Also, when using Tonex through Amplitube 5 Max, I can use the amp, but can't seem to disable the cab from Tonex. How do I disable the cab from Tonex through Amplitube? I would like to be able to use the studios, rooms, cabs, and speakers from Amplitube on a Tonex captured amp, but I can't seem to find a way to accomplish this.
Hi, from the TONEX application you will see the Tone Model Info pane on the right. Click the three dots and choose "Upload" to upload your TONEX Tone Model to ToneNET.
To disable the TONEX Tone Model cabinet when instantiated in the amp section of AmpliTube 5, there's an icon near the top right of the amp section (above the main amp graphic) that looks like a knob. Click that and you can disable the cab that's in the TONEX Tone Model so you can use AmpliTube 5's cabs/rooms/etc.

How can you add a modeled pedal in the effect chain in AmpliTube? I can only add pedals in the amp section and that's frustrating as I would like to use an AmpliTube amp model
There will be a way to add a stomp from TONEX into AmpliTube 5 in a future update.

Hi. Can anyone help me with this one. I got the free version of Tonex . Did try a few amps already. My point is I couldn't find any delay , choruses, , phasers etc. stomp boxes. There's plenty distortion stomp boxex though.
On Amplitube there are, to mix with, also some on free version.
Very inspiring technology. Although I think the stock presets could be better. They sound pretty weak especially the high gain tones.
Greetings! I am loving Tonex so far. However, I am having a bit of an issue. I profiled one of my amp and had it saved to my library. I uploaded the profile to ToneNet but accidentally named it wrong. I accidentally downloaded the ToneNet profile, so I went online and removed the profile from ToneNet.
However, now when I try to upload it it gives me an error message saying that I have to be the original user that created it. But I AM the original user that created the profile. Is there a reason why ToneNet cannot recognize my username that way I shouldn't run into this issue of reuploading it? Why was my original file for my profile removed when I accidentally downloaded it from ToneNet?
How can I access the files externally so I can give this profile to other people? How can you guys help me make this profile available to reupload again without me going through a 10 hour training process?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In principle a good idea but still needs a lot of improvements.
My biggest complaint is, that you can only capture a single preset not even a complete amp channel, much less a complete amp.
Second complaint is the quality of the Premium files, most of them simply sound unbalanced and wrongly adjusted to me. Which even more concerns the user files on Tonenet/Tonex.
With some experience and proper adjustment you can create really good and authentically sounding models, but I personally only find about 5% of the Premium files and maybe 1% of the user files really usable, the rest is unbalanced, wrongly captured, noisy or has other issues. This is not much for a - so called - revolutionary system in my opinion.
In Amplitube the ToneX models should have an option, to use the captured cabinet or to deactivate it, at the moment you have to capture a separate file without cabinet, maybe even more important, Amplitube also needs an additional option to use ToneX stomp boxes in the pedals section and in combination with another ToneX amp model in the amp section too, which at the moment is impossible, as a ToneX model is always seen as amp only.
Within ToneX I also miss this option, to combine a separate ToneX Stop model with a ToneX amp model in the signal chain.
Good start, but time will tell, where this journey leads...
Can this be used in a live situation or just for recording?
