Hello, I am 54 years old, 40 of whom play the guitar, 20 the piano, 5 the violin, and my new challenge is the sax (I just bought my first alto sax 2 weeks ago, I am so a real beginner, and this type of instrument is really new to me). Your videos really help me because I feel like they are educational and specifically designed for me. So I subscribed to your channel, and I really want to offer you hundreds of coffees because all work deserves pay and you deserve it, and what's more, you seem really nice. In short, with you, not only will I learn the sax, but also improve my English... a 2 in 1 combination 😀. Greetings from France.
You're a great I'm having a lot of fun playing it .. but all of you masters do only the first part .. the second is even more beautiful .. and interesting .. please can you do a tutorial also on the second part? Thanks a greeting from Naples Italy.
Jamie, I hope you are not embarrassing, because I am going to praise you, you are great, you seem like a good person, hahaha, and a very good musician, the latter I say almost seriously, hahaha. Thank you for your dedication and dedication. Waiting for your next delivery, Strong hug
I typically don't go and learn the phrasing from the original because our sax guru plays them as well as, but I think maestro is leaving a bit out for us to find for ourselves. I should have listened sooner;)
Late response, sorry, but since this guy never did I can just give you the link, as I’d enjoy that as well. ua-cam.com/video/ySy1y10JIpM/v-deo.html Also, thanks, I’m a new-ish Saxophonist and your videos have been extremely helpful, keep it up!
I want to learn how to play the tone John played at the minute marker 3:33 of the logical song, it's like a fluttering sound but it's not flutter tonguing. Could you summarize how to play that
I can't seemed to get that high A 8va note to come out in that first note on phrase 6. I have like 5 keys to work with instead of the 3 you show but I've tried everything and I believe it only goes to a high G ..seems to be what is only available on my 1920's Conn. Any ideas?
Hey, Jamie thanks for the lesson! Awesome ( also, taking the piss out of me) Bam! Return pun, we will surely be sent to the punitentiary, anyway quite amusing because my saxophone man cave is in fact in a bathroom, in the back of our house, so as to not perturb anyone. So, albeit a great solo, knowing that story makes it so, much better! This week, I got very little practicing done and feel guilty, but having been working hard on some of the great exercises you've provided for months. I saw such an improvement, I thought "lets see what this baby can do?" I just wanted to noodle my ass off in the bathroom. Wait that didn't come out right. No! not that either! I mean.....yeeesh! I wanted to do a progress check!!! So, I am improving quite a bit. Thanks for your help, it really makes a difference!!! Now I gotta, wait another week till your next sterling video! But, I have yet another fantastic song to practice, wait two! , also the little ditty "Go And Copy The Phrasing" song which, ah,em! you didn't include the sheet music for, so I'm going to have to walk my ear for that one I guess ....... ;0p kidding aside, Thanks Jamie!!

Always worth checking the original!
Good stuff! Is it possible there are two popular versions of the song with one in Bm and perhaps the Remastered one in Cm?
I guess.

Rapidly trill between Eb and G. You have to trill all your right hand fingers.
Ok thank you so much
agradecido pela explicação
De nada
Thanks ! Just amazing !
Is it the only Supertramp song you play ? Did you ever record Cannonball ?
Only Supertramp so far, but there's loads of other good ones for sure.
What fingerings are you using for that top A? This is my next challenge to master is this song.
Probably LH 2-3.
