Avalon Cameron is very greedy and is exagerated in what she is charging. This is abusive at this point and ridiculous! You’re correct: that is the most (outrageous) amount a creator has ever charged. I’ll be waiting for MM on that one. Thanks for your video. As usual, you’re spot on!
not to mention, that she regularly "unexpectedly finds a box full of this deck somewhere" , to then sell that as "the last bunch of copies", only to find another box half a year later...
I understand where you’re coming from, that price tag is painfully hefty! Having been willing to pay that much money on the deck makes me unsuitable to comment on that but did it only because Ana Tourian is my favorite illustrator. I’m just really glad that with the MM edition more people will be able to enjoy that deck because it’s absolutely magnificent 🥰

However Avalon Cameron’s character is questionable as there have been so many irregular, inconsistent behaviors with her speech (words) and actions. She’s just looking to take advantage of people and likes to “rearrange” the truth to benefit her interest. That is what I have a problem with.
I won't be buying Avalon's deck, even MM, I just can't stop thinking about how greedy she is every time I look at the images. I don't want to contribute even with a cent to a person like this. But I love Ana Tourians' other work, she is an amazing human being as well.
I cannot wait for Desert Illuminations! I will probably also get one of the Ana's decks as I love her artwork. This was a very helpful video. I live in the UK so a lot of indie decks are inaccessible unless you want to pay a massive amount for shipping/customs.
Yes, we have the same issue here in Australia! When it comes to shipping we have to pay more than the deck itself 😩😩 We’re all very excited about indie decks published MM mostly due to that!
When the Bonestone and Earthflesh tarot was released, Avalon sold them for a reasonable amount, which not all Indie creators have done. The decks she sold at a higher amount was sold years after they were created and released so the deck was already selling on the second hand market for over $600USD. She only had a few copies left and I don’t blame her for selling them for what they were worth, which was still less than the decks were actually selling for on the second hand market and people were guaranteed to get a real deck, not a knock off. These decks aren’t life or death and not being able to own one isn’t harming anybody, so creators have a right to charge what the decks are worth.
I think there’s very valid arguments for both sides. I acquired this deck from the creator when it was priced at $$$ but I was ok with that and I’m still very happy with the deck. On the other hand I know of a lot of people who felt that price mark wasn’t fair. I’m now curious to see what the MM edition looks like!
Both the Lumina Tarot and the Connected and Free Oracle have been out in French for a pretty long time by now. Personally I'm only excited about the Curious Travel's Tarot. And maybe the Desert Illuminations (I had the indie but sold it since I never used it - colours are amazing though). 😊🌺

I really wanted the desert illumination deck, it was love at first sight. I reached out to the creator multiple times and she would not sell me anything. I begged because she was selling some at her local market. I begged and offered any price and she told me no. I don’t want to. Hey a deck from someone who clearly made it seem like she didn’t want me to own one. I’d have bought the mass market if she was just more kinder but she was cold and barley responded. Now that I seen you say it maybe mass market I got excited for just a moment but my soul won’t let me buy it. When I tell you I was shocked, I was shocked at her lack of understanding. It doesn’t even look the same to me anymore the spark is gone. Now that I see you flipping thru the cards I feel almost nothing. I can’t lie and say I’m not jealous of all those lucky people that suggest to reach out to the creators. Everyone seems to have great responses. She was the first and only artist I will ask.that experience did it for me. I felt like a little kid, I begged for a damaged deck, I begged for one she had for her festival. She said she was selling them there……I don’t see why she couldn’t ship. I just don’t get it. I guess she just didn’t like my vibe. Lovely video. I’m so sorry to hear you’ve had an unpleasant experience with a creator! In my case I have to say I’ve had both good and terrible luck. In one case in specific I was treated with disrespect and I completely agree that personal experiences can ruin a deck. You never know what’s going on in a person’s life but being kind doesn’t cost anything. I hope the spark will come back when it’s released mass market 🥰

I have the indie and MM of Curious Travels. The MM is linen, the borders are a bit bigger making the cards bigger, and the foiling is shinier, but it doesn’t distract me. I love both! Also, I backed a kickstarter and it still hasn’t been produced, and it will be over 2 years from end of kickstarter to when we get the decks (if we do). The creator posted a few months ago how excited he was that his deck has been picked up and is going to be produced MM. Oh, boy!! I don’t think he understood how kickstarter works, but people really let him know! His campaign made over $100,000 and yet he went looking for a publisher! It took a lot of convincing for him to even promise to produce it indie first. What a letdown. I’ve had a few kickstarters that have really soured me on the entire process. Thanks for the video, I love seeing these decks!
Oh, I’m glad I’m not the only one that feels this way about a KS campaign going MM immediately afterwards 🥰 We feel kind of betrayed don’t we! The whole concept of supporting the artist is based on knowing that they won’t be able to give life to their creations otherwise but if a MM contract is already in place I really don’t see the point!!

I am def gonna buy the tarot of the cosmic seed I have the 2nd edition of it. D want to compare. It's also a given on the Bonestone and Earthflesh Tarot I have it and the Sepia drawing of it from make playing cards. I will also get the Mass market Tarot of Echos of course for the book. I don't have desert Illuminations but will wait for the mass market to get it. The only other one that peaked my interest was the lumina which is beautiful. The liberator tarot looks like it came out in February. There are no pics but seems the same. What do u think?
I know what you mean, I’ve seen the listing for a MM of the Liberation a few months ago but then it disappeared and not it’s back! I don’t think there’s going to be a lot of difference between the two editions which is why I was perplexed at how quickly it went MM after the KS. Makes me think twice about backing a campaign now!

Poesis would be for me, so I really hope it comes out... whatever language. The images are already very evoking for me, which is rare for an oracle deck for me, with most oracles I don't vibe at all. EDIT: Just realised it is mm in French! : D I have not many decks anymore on my wishlist..... Savvy soul and Tabula mundi would be my choice, if I found them for a price that I can rectify for myself, if I won the lottery, or if somebody said "Choose a birthday present, up to x € (with x > than the price of the deck including shipping, tax and handling fee). None of these scenarios are very likely.
Yes Poesis is available MM in French! I think you can find it on Amazon France depending on where you live (I don’t know if they ship everywhere but it’s worth checking it out!). I love that deck, it’s so profound! I hope you can get it 🥰
@@fairlighttarot I'm lucky, french decks are often available from amazon in my own country (Germany)! I've put it on my Christmas list. I have only very few decks that I still want, and even less that make it on THE REAL LIST where I (and my husband) actually buy from. (which is the christmas list)

Thanks for the heads up on upcoming mass market version of some great decks. I missed out on both Indie versions of Desert Illuminations, so will definitely be buying the mass market version. I procrastinated and missed out on the Indie version of the Black Violet Tarot too, so was really happy to see it listed on Amazon for $29.99. Lol, I pressed that BUY buttom immediately and a copy is on its way to me now. After watching a walk through you did on your channel of the Poesis Oracle a year or so ago, I immediately bought a copy, an English version. It packs a punch for sure but I really love it.

I think that she decided to charge a larger amount because people are reselling this deck for much more than even $440. This is the artist's work and others are profiting more than she was able to on resells. We need to remember that our support should uplift and go to the artist. It's a tough situation either way though
I'm all for supporting the artists but $440 still seems too steep. There have been many decks selling for higher amounts on eBay or facebook groups but when they were reprinted the artists didn't charge more than the original prices or if they did, like Baba Studio, they still kept it reasonable. Just my humble opinion though!
It’s a difficult topic that’s for sure! In the one hand, an artist can decide what to price their product but in the other hand the difference between the old price and the recent one is massive. As I said, I can’t really say anything because I was willing to pay a lot of money for that deck!
Definitely will never purchase an Ai deck Already we can access online Ai tarot readings and they are free and strangely accurate Be careful what you wish for 😢

There have been many decks selling for higher amounts on eBay or facebook groups but when they were reprinted the artists didn't charge more than the original prices or if they did, like Baba Studio, they still kept it reasonable. Just my humble opinion though!
It’s a difficult topic that’s for sure! In the one hand, an artist can decide what to price their product but in the other hand the difference between the old price and the recent one is massive. As I said, I can’t really say anything because I was willing to pay a lot of money for that deck!

Definitely will never purchase an Ai deck
Already we can access online Ai tarot readings and they are free and strangely accurate

It will be interesting to see how they will develop in the future. There are still a lot of rules to implement I think
