Many appreciated for this video. We can't open the bulb cover for a few months. Have also asked the help from the customer service of oven, and the answer is to use the oven soap. Oven soap did clean up the whole oven but still not help opening the bulb cover. After watching your video, we finally managed to open the bulb cover. It saved a lot!
Thank you so much for this video. I tried the WD 40 and sprayed it twice waiting 30 minutes in between. Used a pair of rubber gloves and finally got it off. I can’t say how much I appreciate your help I thought of using the WD-40 but didn’t know if you could use that in an oven. As a woman alone without a strong man in the house, I’m proud of myself for getting it off, thanks to you. Much appreciated!!
We had exactly the same issue with exactly the same Bosch oven model. Tried everything and was at the verge of calling an electrician. You saved the day. After soaking the wd40 overnight it finally unscrewed and hey presto ….. .. and we have light. Thank u sooo much.
Thanks so much! WD 40 resolved opening bulb cover after 2nd spray and waiting with patience in addition to believing all the positive comments now adding mine.
Thank you so much for this simple "trick"! Been trying for months to get the glass off and not succeeding (putting it down to be over 70 now😢). Watched your video and gave it a good spray with WD40, left it then gave it another spray for good measure and left it again for half an hour and using the magic glove off it came. As you say leaving the WD40 to soak is the key - patience. Super pleased👍😀
Same oven as I have . Before I saw this tip I nearly gave up. I tried for ages to get the glass cap off . Then saw this . Absolutely brilliant. Spayed WD40 . Left it 15 mins . Effortless to come undone. Thanks so much for the tip.
We had today the same problem with our Neff oven. The little trick with the WD40 has worked very well and we used some oven spray, too. We also had bought the bulb cover removal tool from Neff. We successfully changed the oven bulb. Thank you very much for this useful advice.
Can't thank you enough. After a very stressful hour trying to remove a solidly stuck bulb cover on a Neff oven we eventually found your video. After initially not being too keen to use WD40 in an oven I gave in and applied the ever faithful WD40 (what do they put in that?). After leaving for 10 miutes and then a little wiggling it opened very easily. I had previously used the special cover removal tool five years ago when the bulb went but this time that proved in effective. Much appreciated. Thanks for putting it out there.
Perfect - used good few sprays of WD40, waited for 5 mins then turned the oven to full for 3 mins. Used a piece of cloth to unscrew that that was that. As advised burned off the WD40 by running the oven at high temp for 2 further mins. No tools needed! Ordered pack of 4 suitable bulbs from Amazon for next day delivery at £9. Than you for this great advice!

Super PRO-TIP: Take a photo of the bulb right away as it easy to smudge the bulb info off the bulb! At least with my little halogen bulb! Wow maybe it's the WD-40 on my fingers
I also had this problem with a glass bulb cover on a Hotpoint Grill and after spraying WD40 it came off easy after 5 mins before I tried this was no way it was coming undone was very stuck, thanks for the video this was very useful
Thanks mate.. tried every ounce of brute force, no way was it budging! I had a tiny bit of WD40 left in my can, put that around the edges and 15 mins later came back and off it came!
The WD40 and the waiting time around 10mn (important) did the trick for my NEFF (type HBB-AP71-7) stuck bulb cover. No other tooling needed for me but what's in the video. Thanks for sharing this demo!
This worked for me and I am thankful I did not have to buy the removal tool because it is not cheap. I did two sprays of WD40, waiting about 20 min. after the first spray; still couldn't get it loose. Then sprayed again and waited a few minutes. The rubber gloves are a very helpful hint.
Hi ShakerMakers, thats great news. Makes my day when im able to help. Please dont forget to subscribe to my channel so i can bring more tips to people. Many thanks. 😊
Today I sprayed the threads with WD-40 and the cover still would not come off. I did not want to buy a strap wrench or a small oil filter wrench. After thinking about the problem, I attached a 3-inch steel hose clamp around the cover. This improved my grip and enabled me to generate enough torque to unscrew it.
Hi , yes definitely give it a shot. Don't use blue grease as I belive it is combustible. Once you get the cap of using wd40 will be enough for future also. Hope that helps.
Same oven as ours, but ours seems completely totally stuck. Tried this WD and glove but still nothing. Almost giving up now. So stuck it even made my finger bleed through the glove!
Mine was very difficult and the removing tool was slipping. The trick that worked for me on to of heating the oven and using gorilla tape. That help the tool to hold to the cover.

Thank you for the tip here - unfortunately it did not work for me. However I was able eventually to remove the glass once I realised that there was no way it was held by grease. In fact the glass moved slightly from the beginning but then clicked against metal. My solution was to use a kindling of about 10" and tapping it with a hammer while resting on the slightly raised part of the glass cover - the glass released perfectly.
Thanks for this comment @shennachie I had to resort to something similar using a long piece of wooden dowel as a drift. Worked perfect after a few taps
I’ll save you all some time.. use channel lock (tongue and groove ) pliers. Gently grab the lens cover and work back and forth. It will take very little torque to work it free. Don’t bother using a rag or anything to protect the glass. Use a gentle touch and have patience.
Hi, Rob definitely a good way forward. James I did have one of my subscribers who tried that and unfortunately broke the glass covering. They must have applied too much pressure. But like you said it has to be done very, very patiently. thanks for the tip.

Thanks, there is no risk with running the oven after spraying WD40 ?
No risk at all. WD-40 is not flammable.
But it literally says on my tin of WD40 that it’s very highly flammable! Otherwise it would’ve been my first go- to
WD-40 is definitely flammable, when I was a stupid kid we used to use it as a flamethrower
The aerosol part of it is flammable. When its been sprayed and settled its not
