We are on a mission to see if there is a way to save on our Bourbon Budget without sacrificing good Bourbon. Join us in this video, as we set out to find Bourbons in Dayton, OH under $20 a bottle. We are giving bourbons like Rebel, Rebel 100, Wild Turkey, Old Grand Dad, Big House, Kentucky Gentlemen, Jesse James, Evan Williams 1783, Ten High, Old Crow, Benchmark No.8 & Kentucky Tavern a shot. We ran across a couple of gems along the way as well (Heaven Hill Bottled in Bond & Knob Creek 9 yr Single Barrel Reserve) and even fell to temptation and picked up a highly recommended tequila (Hussong’s Reposado) and an odd ball spirit (Shanky’s Whip)!

We pack a bottle of pickle juice up to elk camp because we hike 10+ miles a day in the Idaho mountains. Haven't had cramping problems scents we started drinking it at camp.
As an Ohioan bourbon hunter for over 20 years, I clearly enjoy the disappointment of bourbon chasing.
Lol! Ohio is a different state to hunt in for sure! I love the fixed pricing and the website that helps you somewhat figure out where a bottle may be, when we hunt in some other states it is completely different, the asking prices can get a bit crazy tho!
That hero edition Evan Williams is super tasty and big house is great easy drinker.

Heaven Hill is usually allocated in Ohio I thought, so not bad. Benchmark is great for the price! Know this is a bourbon channel but myself and others would probably appreciate a quick glance at the scotch section please. Nice video tho thanks for the upload!

My new lower price point bourbon is Bowman Brothers small batch. I was surprised I liked it so well. I would pick that over buffalo Trace hands down!
Haven’t enjoyed Bowman Brothers in a while. Gonna def have to revisit it since you recommend it so highly.

Im in Dayton and its a bourbon desert as far as unicorn stuff. You cant even find a regualr bottle of Buffalo Trace. However, Benchmark is a great bourbon for the price. Especially the Full Proof. Hard to find in ohio but right across the river into KY and they have a bunch. Great bourbon for $22
Completely agree! Bourbon hunting in Ohio can be challenging to say the least. Good thing KY is close enough to make the drive for sure!
Some of these are decent juice but many are drain pours. Headache in a bottle with the Kentucky gentleman. The 1783 is good. The rebel is very palate dependent I’ve seen various reviews I personally go for the coopers craft 100 here in northeast Ohio it is 31 dollars. But I have a few bottles of it and will get more. Good luck with this tasting.

1783 is a very good dram for an easy price. I always buy the 1.75. Comes in at $35 dollars in my market.

That EW 1783 is good stuff. In my opinion it may be the best bottle you got. The tequila is ok. It's more of a neat bottle than great tequila at its price point in my area. Looks like you had a great time and this video concept is great. Wish more people would look at the lower cost stuff and give us a review of it.

I can still find Wild Turkey 101 for $19.99 and Evan Williams Bottled in Bond for less, and Evan Williams Extra-Aged for under $13 🤔
Those are all great ones! We have those here along with a few others that make the cut. So when we dive into the budget bottles we will make sure those go into the mix.. and 19.99 for 101 is a great price! It’s $25 here 🥃

The best of the cheapos is Benchmark and comes from Buffalo Trace, been mixing it for years. They used to have a brown sugar and peach flavor as well. Brown sugar was good. It's funny that they found a way to legally bottle rubbing alcohol and, of course; that's Beams 8 Star. It's the worst I've ever had and is also the only whiskey I've ever poured down the drain. If you cross the border into Indiana, everything gets 10-20% cheaper. Good video.

@@liquorcamp honestly, I had it around 10 years ago? I couldn't even mix it 3:1/4:1 with coke it was so bad. I even threw the bottle away. ;) Benchmark has always been better, imho, than all of them for cheapo. The brown sugar made one helluva sweet 1/2 and 1/2 but it was good.

The Benchmark is what I used to buy in college. It was the bottle that got me interested in Bourbon. Now they have a whole new line, which is nostalgic for me. Great bottle for the price.
