They are great. You actually don’t pay all at once. It is a subscription and payments are very manageable. I pay more for cable TV a month than the model I’m making. I sat! Just do it!

Is there any painting involved? I suppose not, just weathering. Also, when I am working with small parts I lay a thick white towel down on my work table. It usually stops the parts from falling to the floor. I also wear an apron that I hook to bench. That way the small parts can be easily found. I started using this method years ago when I worked in 1/87 scale.

Seems like a nice quality kit, seeing that ugly parts and mold or mating lines are mostly hidden. I'd love to have this model myself, as the 917 is my all-time favourite car. for me, it's just too pricy, considering they want roundabout 1200€ for it. but I'll gladly follow your build logs :)

Great video and vehicle !. I love putting together these 1/8 models from IXO . I have built so far threeof these models in my country, Argentina, the Citroen 3CV, the IKA Torino 380w and the Volkswagen Beatle. It is possible to improve them a lot by painting some of their parts. I would have painted the exhaust pipes if I was you. Best regards

I have this and am working through the engine right now so this was helpful. You had a couple of issues and tips that I worked through myself like the torx bit hole, I used my pin vice without a bit, took some time figuring all this out. Watching your build will saved me some time going forward.
Note: I’ve watched a few of you videos, good work, nice stuff well shot but you might want to stop saying, “actual” and “actually” so much. Often it’s not appropriate in context. Sorry, I do a lot of public speaking and Toast Masters so I notice these things.

I’ve tried a couple different ones. But in the end found a regular size screwdriver with a fine phillips head works a lot better(more control and more power)

You'd think that with the large scale and the asking price they'd have realistic-looking bolts instead of standard Phillips head screws. But I guess they go with the horrendous mold lines (kudos for not bothering to sand them down, btw). Two years to get all the parts, LOL.

You do know that IXO changed the throttle linkage...
    It's incorrect for this engine...
When I was building this engine I thought something was wrong...
I'm very familiar with this engine...
I'm a Cameraman in Hollywood and shot pictures of the real engine....
If you go to the english language on line for build 5 IXO tells you to delete those steps...
They produced it before they got the finalized version...figures...
I myself filled all the wholes in the tubes where their going to want you to now put just screws...
    I matched the paint perfectly...
But I'm customizing this engine like I did the Ecto-1...
So I've painted the yellow plastic with certain shades to make it look transparent...
And I did all the bolt heads and did braited lines...
But I thought I'd let you know about the linkage...best

Screwing means the next in proper Englisg, not in slang: 1-To attach, fasten or close by means of a screw.2To unite or seperate by means of a srew in a twisting motion. 3 To press thightly in a device (such as a vise) operated by a screw. 4 To operate, tighten or adust by means of a screw. Nothing to get a red face off,i think. Don,t be a puritain,or pretend to be one. When Tom need to use definitions like this to not upset the small minded people, the video of the complete build would be having a 9.31 h running time. And i know that the Dutch people can be blund or very straight in theyr habbits and choise of theyr words. I am one of those blund dutchies myself. But in screwing a modelkit together is a normal way of saying it. No products to prevent sexual transmitted disease needed in this way of enjoying your hobby. Image i would use the word condom or preservative in public in the USA. They would be very upset:)))) BTW that engine looks good, waiting to se the end of this build.A big Beautifull Porsche that fill up a big shelve
