  • Today we have a NEW addition to CRKT's Forged by War series. The Clever Girl Kukri is here on the channel. I had heard that Austin McGlaun had a new addition to this series, and like he usually does, he delivered big time. This will make a fine addition to anyone's kit in the backcountry.
    Here is a link to Austin's charity of choice

    Great review, picked up the clever girl kukri yesterday, sat Oct 8 2022, and immediately got rid of the uncomfortable dropleg belt loop, swapped out for a tec loc and it's super convenient and comfortable to carry now, also had the same sharpness experience as yourself, it's sharpish but no where near shaving any hair, I think I will take it across a diamond rod and be quite happy with it after that, great video, thanks for making!

    Usually a “small kukri” under 9” in blade is silly to me, for the most part. However I felt this one and played with it for awhile and I must admit that it is very good in
    the hand and heavy enough in the blade that it will chop decently. My biggest problem is that the handle doesn’t flare out at the end, it gets smaller-which is ridiculous and hard to hold onto when swinging it hard because the centrifugal force is pulling it out of your hand. I will wrap it with grip tape or silicone wrap to fix the problem, no big deal. I’m also planning to wear it across the body on a sling like a shoulder bag. This fixes any problems I had with it!

    Kukri is the most useful blade style there is, in my opinion. The 2 clever girls before this one have been a success so I had to order this one. Thanks for the preview brother. Subscribed

    I have no use for a kukri but I think I half to have this anyways. That thing is sweet looking. A hell of a "get away from me" tool 😆

    So i don't own one of these yet but have handled one my buddy ordered which got me to order one. I really am not the biggest fan of the Clever Girl based handle. Feels a bit narrow for the knife in my hand. I really do thing this knife would have been served better if Austin used the knife design from the Rakassan.

    Honestly, the reason I haven't subscribed is gonna be "Noice or F-bomb" It's reminiscent of getting a a tooth drilled.

      Weird question, but yes. Very well made, sturdy construction

      Yes reason being ,I used it during a few kali sessions ,the balance is second to none. The impact tip on the handle is good, plus with the thickness of the blade allows the back of the blade to used as a impact weapon also to deflect blows.As with any blade train with it first.All in all it's a go to for close quarters.

    had to click on this cuz i didn't know it existed, now i see why, it's limited. do you think it's worth $100 for sk5 steel? cold steel makes sk5 steel knives for less than half that price...

    • @Tctbnl
      @Tctbnl  2 роки тому

      Not really “limited”. With shipping issues, crkt could only get so many on the first go. Do I think this is worth the cost? Yes. Every sale helps a veteran charity, and it is a awesome chopper. I get other companies make other blades at a lesser price point, but that’s the fun of a free market economy right? Thanks for watching

    Okay not too impressed by it. You need to look at kurki plus machete from Cold Steel. Unless you want kurki plus from Cold Steel, which is the best kurki made by non Nepali. This clever girl is more shaped like kopis not kurki so bear that in mind. Btw good presentation in vid ☝️😎
