Kyosho certainly appreciates your support and it's greatest desire is that you find the truck a worthwhile investment. The wheels use a 12mm hex, which Kyosho has been using for 25 years. There are a number of other trucks that use the same wheel type, such as the Traxxas rear wheel or any 4x4 wheel, HPI, Losi, etc. I think the only one that won't fit is the Associated. They chose to go with the style that they've been using for years, which is the croos pin in the rear, and bearings in the frt.
The truck with the long antenna has the stock electronics, but you'll notice that it's the one pushing the other truck around when they're in the video together. It's pretty capable out of the box.
@SPRCVIDEO I bought one, a few days ago, put a 3300 NiMH in it, stock electronics, stock chassis, no upgrades, and i'd say it runs some about 40 or probably 45.. That car is so fun!
The first track is "Bang the Bass" by Wesley Devine, the second is "No-Function" by (Artist Unknown), the third is "Man vs. Mountain" by Pierre Gerwig Langer, and the last is "Amped Violence" also by Pierre Gerwig Langer.
The included radio is 27 MHz - sometimes more reliable than 2.4 GHz, but it doesn't have the ability to choose it's own channel. Yeah, we've had a few comments that the body could be better. The body mounts are positioned to accept any body that fits the Slash 2WD, so there are a lot of options.
Based on the information we have now, it should make it in time. I'd hate to make promise, however, because anything can happen. We've had a shipment held in port for three weeks due to technicalities on a piece of paperwork. Assuming none of that happens, it's a good chance you'll get it in time - perhaps just in time.
I looks like they'll be selling for about $210 and the speed is in the 25-30 mph range with the standard motor. With a modified motor, the speeds can easily get into the 50-60 mph range.
The black wheels are the same as the chrome one that are shown int he pictures. The production wheel is a satin chrome finish, so it's between the two that are shown here. The black wheels are available standard on the Ultima DB desert buggy, which you can see as my most recent video.
Thanks a Million for the info. One more question:Since it will be new on the market and we will wait on parts, are the wheels compatible with any other vehicle? I assume they are Hex pattern? I need to prepare for racing tires before the event with the new Ultima SC. Thanks again ! Huge help ! I want o bring Kyosho to the podium in every class at our local track !
@trxultimakx09 True, the original shocks didn't always have a good seal to the shock shaft. The seals are not meant to be replaced as they're fixed into the shock body. But, the replacement shock bodies aren't costly at all. Additionally, the standard shocks have been modified to improve the seal. Then there's the aluminum shocks - best in the business if you really want some smooth, precision, durable shocks, but that's another story... ;o)
I'm not exactly sure about your question. I checked the website you mentioned and found nothing related. I edited and post the video here and I haven't seen it anywhere else yet, but I'm sure that will happen over time.
I hear from someone that has mabye an inside scoop that it is the end of month. Iam looking to purchase the Ultima SC for a trophy race on the 27th of FEB. Do I have a good chance??
@YAGO323 I've though about that and I have a feeling that the Buggy classes are going to be largely overshadowed by 2wd and 4wd SCTs. But I think 2wd SCTs will be more popular through at least most of 2010. When LOSI and AE roll out their 4wd SCTs then the "traditional" Racing truck, 2wd 1/10 truggy, will start to go into decline as a serious racing segment.
@austinkx9 No, it doesn't need it. During a crash, I would prefer such an inexpensive part break, especially one that's so easy to replace. Aluminum parts tend to make other parts break that are harder to replace. I personally like the aluminum pieces for this truck, but sometimes they can cause more hard than good. ;o)
This truck is the best out of the box SC in it's class hands down!!!!

Thanks for the information. It's good to know that you're enjoying it.
Great video. Not crazy about the body but I'm sure the aftermarket bodies will fit.
Nice video work!!!! The truck is awesome!!!!

@SPRCVIDEO Ok, thanks and have a happy new year :-)
wow it looks like this old school rc10
@dagks

Interesting truck. It looks like a race worthy 2wd truck. I wonder what will be more popular next year, 2wd or 4wd??
What kind of wheels are the black ones? JConcepts Rulux maybe? I like the offset on them.

Yes, the tires are available separately and they will fit any standard SC wheel.

Any more updates, release earlier than expected into CT ?
Release is still on schedule - 20th of this month, then however long it takes to reach your local dealer via UPS.

Is this 2wd or 4wd?
I'm totally starting a ORR series with all these short course trucks around my community.
Yes, of course.
can you buy those tires aftermarket, will they fit the slash plz reply
@filip500filip
Yes, the included electronic speed controller has fully proportional forward, brakes and reverse.
@YAGO323

what is the name of the song in the beginning mate
are they as stable in the air as sc10s and losi scte?
this car runs 60 km/h right ? ^^ and how long can you drive with one NiMH battery ?
please answer :-)
@sundalo47
Yes. It's a direct fit with no modifications needed.
@Dogman36
These are 2WD, which is far more popular than 4WD and much less costly.
Can this do reverse
@WStreetfame
I would guess 50-55 kph?
I've got a question: Kyosho says it runs 60k, right? I guess it's with LiPo's.. So does anyone know how fast it goes with NiMH?
@TheColt1911 We were using a 5000 mah battery and it ran for more than 30 minutes.
It will be available by Feb. 20th.
@austinkx9

Exactly the same guts like the ultima db
Peak Racing 5400 mAh, 45C, 2S LiPo packs.
