Annnnnnnnd once again you do the video I've been searching for. Thanks you so, so much for the work you put into your vids, it really is appreciated. I was VERY excited for a noiseless clock and more usable looper but within 2 days had sold my MkII (at face price, no scalping!) and kept my MkI as it just seemed to have so much more personality and energy....but the level adjustment on the MkII has become something I'm missing so have been getting splinters sitting on the fence about taking a 2nd dip...and this was the vid I needed! Thanks again
Thank you. I've fallen victim previously to selling off old versions of things to replace new ones thinking the new versions were the exact same but "more". Something I'll never do again in the future. While the video is a lot of work, hopefully it'll save a few people getting rid of the V1's before they've had a chance to try the V2's, or at least inform them of the differences so they can decide if they care. My experience, I liked the MKI better at first, but the MKII took over the preference slot after getting to know it better. As this video indicates, they don't behave the exact same, but you can for the most part achieve similar results. The only 2 things I personally prefer on the MKI over the MKII is I like the higher pitched clock noise (for whatever reason), and I like that it sounds a bit grittier on certain settings. The MKII is amazing though with the additions. I'd change the ability to have those 2 things I mentioned on the MKI if I had wishes, but other than that I'd be perfectly content with the MKII. Both are a good time.
@@TriPedalReviews 100% this. Most of my board is V1’s of things mostly discontinued for some reason. On the bright side you inspired me to give it a 2nd chance and I’ve just bought it back off the guy I sold it to! One other thing was that I used the V1 for “weird” sounds so was over the moon to see your guide to some of the less direct uses of the V1...going to see what else I can squeeze from the V2. Actually used the delay on v1 with the feedback maxed and delay at about 7 o’clock to get a wonderfully resonant overdrive sound...time to dive back in
This is the video I was looking for!, a super detailed comparison, thanks!, I just discovered your channel and immediately subscribed, This made me decide to keep my Mood 1 and wait and save for a v2 but NOT selling my V1, cheers!
Hello! I'm just now thinking about buying one of the versions... Your video is great, very useful! Just one question: at the beginning of the comparison, I like the reverb and delay tones of the MKI much better (warmer). Are these found in MKII?
Great video! For someone who's never owned the MOOD MKI or even played one before, which would you recommend going for? I'm mainly a guitar player, but I like to dabble with other sources too. I'm just trying to decide whether I should go for a MKI for a solid discount on the used market, or spring for the MKII. Also would you say either is a good option for live use for generating soundscapes for cool intros or in between songs? Thanks!
Either is going to be interesting to you. I would personally go for the MKII as the difference isn't radical to someone who is not super familiar with the MKI and I prefer the MKII slightly. They are excellent for generating random soundscapes. I'd say that's their primary job :) This video at least outlines the differences, so if you want to save some money on a MKI, you'll at least know what they are and can make the choice based on if any of that stuff is important to you. Hopefully that was in any way helpful haha.

Thanks for such a detailed comparison! I didn’t expect classic mode to be so different - definitely worth keeping both for their unique qualities.

Same. I'm keeping my Mood Mk1 after watching this. There are simply things more sonically appealing (that some might consider lo Fi) that I prefer.
Most excellent comparison. Thank you!
If anyone has picked out differences I missed, feel free to mention them in the comments! It is good for people to know.
You did a great job!
IMHO top demo of this pedal!
As usual, an incredbibly detailed and thorough review! Thank you!
Congrats on videos that really explore the pedal's potential
I love these pedal shootout videos!
Very nice comparison!
I believe the MKII has 2xs the available looper length.

The MKII has a hidden tone control, so it should be possible to get it warmer with less high end.
well done!

4:50 - ⚠🙉.
What's the point of rendering your own boutique pedal obsolete? That creativity?
You’ve never improved upon something you created?
