Great Video - I was one of the 600 and your video sums this up perfectly. Tough course and the descent through the bogs at Illgill head was especially grim. Well done!
Love the video! After each race, we always look forward to your video going online - not just to see what it was like at the front, but also to relive the whole experience. Thanks for all your hard work, and well done on the race!
@@Kayleigh-n5i This comment has made my day. I run around one handed talking to myself thinking no one watches, it's just lovely to hear someone does. Thankyou Kayleigh that's very much appreciated
Great video Martin.. I started just behind you and wondered how much of the race youd ve recording when we started... You have summed it up perfectly.. on to watch ch your Snowdon video next..😊
Ascending Scafell Pike Itself tough but over in about 90 mins. But then you descend loads, and back up to adjacent Scafell, then down again only to go up Illgill Head...so it becomes 3 seperate Ascents....and felt alot trickier, more scrambling, taking more time. I still ran out of water between checkpoint 2 and 3 even with a full 2 litres topped up.
@martin-boyce Thanks for the reply. Very interesting. If Rat Race renews the series next year, I will definitely sign up for this event and complete the trilogy. It's nice to have a comparison so I know what to expect.
Great Video. I think all of us that completed Scafell share a special bond forever more. Well done mate

I try and record enough to make it a whole story/ journey lots of clips throughout certainly at the interesting bits.
Videos of all 3 done now
Gutted, i couldn't do it this year due to injury, fingers crossed for next year
I was saved only by my water filter and able to top up at Foxes Tarn Gully! That scree descent from scafell was a quad crusher!
@@johnathanfell7303 knee wrecker for me
It was brutal! But 11hrs and 22 minutes later I finished it before the sunset 😊
Saw it rise...saw it set...well done you 😉
@HARIBOUKI_ You get a shout out in this video... Any chance?
Weather aside, how did the ascent sections compare to Ben Nevis? I struggled with the Ben Nevis ascent, maybe because it was a very hot day

That’s why you weren’t at Nuclear races this weekend then the weather was glorious.
