- Hundreds gathered in Raleigh on Monday to honor the life of golfer Grayson Murray. The Raleigh native and PGA Tour pro died by suicide on Saturday, May 30. Murray had been vocal about his ongoing battle with mental illness and alcohol addiction.

I feel so badly for his family and especially his fiancee who supported him through his struggles, was planning their spring wedding and even she couldn't stop him from ending his life.

Not sure they were still together. He had deleted all pictures of her on his sites and his parents didn’t mention her when they released a statement after his death. Might have been a reason he did what he did 🙏
@@MkmmitchI agree! They were supposed to be married on April 27, 2024, but it didn’t happen. Also, everyone has addressed her as his fiancé since his death. But after seeing his remarks about her after his win in January 2024, he said his favorite day of the week is when he sees her. He even credited her with his win and how he’s doing in life and being 8 mos sober. In my opinion (only), I feel that she may have broken up with him and he was so devastated by it that even couldn’t even finish his round and figured that if he didn’t have her anymore that his life just wasn’t worth living. It is kinda odd that his family totally left her out of their statement to the media. Then made a point of it by naming just about everyone but her! His parents loved her in the beginning. I just feel bad for his parents and the ones that have stood by him thru all his trials and tribulations! Prayers to his family!
