- A shootout between the amps Bogner XTC Ecstasy 3534, Soldano SLO 30 and the Victory Super Kraken VX100.
I go through each Amps clean, crunch and lead channel. I'm going straight into a Two Notes Torpedo Captor and then into my audio interface using the built in cab sim in the Captor.
The guitar is a limited edition Ernie Ball MusicMan JP6.
I've tried to play similar things on each amp but sometimes couldn't quite remember what I played.

Soldano sounds more alive to me. It just has something the others dont IMO. That said i dont think I could justify $2700 for a new one. But If i can ever pick up one used for 2k or less I would go for it.
Soldano 1st Place....Victory 2nd Place...Bogner 3rd Place...I have the Soldano SLO 30...Amazing amp, with great tonal features..The Soldano has one of the best crunch channels I have ever heard...I was never able to get into the Bogner Sound. Thanks for the great video comparison, Steve. PS. My favorite amps are Friedman and Metropoulos Amps. Plexi and Modded Plexi Amps just can't be beat, imho. Take Care.

Thank you and no problem. My favourite is probably the victory just for the sheer versatility plus the crunch mode is incredible especially when the mid boost is engaged. But I have to say the overdrive sound on the Soldano is also amazing. The victory with its clean and crunch channel plus the soldano overdrive channel would be the perfect amp!!

@@SteveKay77 you say that you like Victory clean more then Bogner and Soldano clean, but to my ears that sound is not clean: it s a sort of crunch. Soldano and Bogner clean have a really clean sound. Or I am wrong?
@@francesco0185you aren't wrong. He's a Brit, so naturally he'll choose the Brit amp...and its not a fair comparison...a 30 watt,a 35 watt...and a 100 watt head...is NOT a fair comparison.

And the bogner is 50 watts give or take. Manual says 45. I didn’t look at which output tubes are in the slo 30.

I have to say the victory sounds great,although it seems louder in the video. As 3534 user, you failed to mention the “eq” switches on each channel and the presence as well as the boosts for blue and red. Showcase its true 5 channels and compare.
The victory is a much louder amp. I tried to get the levels similar in the end. I didnt use all the extra switches as I just trued to show them all as they come with the flat eq so to speak. Both the soldano and victory have other switches like a bass boost, mid boost and bright switch but I didnt use them either for that reason.
I’m confused as to why you would compare two 30/35 watt amps with a VHX100? Of course the 100 amp is going to have more headroom. I don’t think it should have Been with the SLO & the Bogner. It also sounds as if the Victory is louder on the recording
I explain in the video that the victory has a 30 watt mode and that is what its set to. So it is around the same as the SLO and the Bogner in that mode.
I don’t get why the Soldano is so sought after. I don’t like the sound of that amp at all. The Suoer Kraken wins this comparison at all stages.
The Soldano blows the Super Kraken away!!! I had the Super Kraken and the Soldano , I still have the Soldano.

I wouldn't knock any amp on here but @@shred9080 if you think that maybe you don't know how to play guitar or dial in an amp. Eric Clapton , Eddie Van Halen , George Lynch Warren Haynes , Mark Knopfler , Stevie Ray Vaughn, Warren D Martini , Mike Landow, Steve Lukather and many more seemed to like it.

The problem with all these videos as these guys just go straight into the dirty channel and then they want a noodle which gives you such a one-dimensional sounded get you no idea of harmonics or how chords ring out they just play like 5 seconds of chords and then they just noodle the rest of the time.
