    Well guys you all seemed to love my video where I shared the products I dont like from the brands I love and so I thought in the interest of fairness I should do the reverse and look at the products I love from the brands I dont.. What would be your favourite product from a brand you dont really like overall.. Sending lots of love xx

      Hey hun thank you so so much for sharing and I think this is something which I wish more people would read as a lot of people think that because brands like simple and cerave are 'basic' they wont be able to have a negative reaction to them and this is simply not true so thank you so much for sharing xx

    I don't like Neutrogena, but I do like their dry-touch face sunscreens for those days when I go for a swim or to the beach. They stay matte all day, seem to protect me from burning pretty well, and are good when I just want something basic, not sticky, water-resistant, and more heavy-duty than my usual daily sunscreens.

    • @MadAboutSkin
      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +3

      OMG I totally agree, their dry touch sunscreens were my go to before Korean sunscreens were a thing and they were the only ones which would keep my oil slick skin in check and matt all day.. Thanks so much for reminding me of them xx

    Loved it! I’m with you on the Clinique balm, but my Drunk Elephant cheat product is the C Firma serum. The cleanser is also great but I haven’t found crucial differences between it and others.

      Team Clinique cleanser... I agree with you on the Drunk Elephant c-firma which I used to love and go to all the time but I have recently moved to using more vitamin c derivatives so havent bought it in a while but the texture is divine xx

      @galtoren7073 3 роки тому

      Mad About Skin I’ve actually been wanting to ask you about this if you don’t mind - the C Firma is oil based, right? I know that vitamin c is best layered directly onto the skin before other products - would you use the Survival 0 or Inkey Q10 before or after the C Firma? Lots of love!

    Rob, I keep a tube of acne fighting cream from a drugstore acne line of products that I wouldn't buy anything else from. I use this to spot treat any bumps that may show up once in a while! The only product I use from Simple is their cleansing oil. I do have sensitive skin, so it has worked beautifully for me.
    PS It's interesting to hear you talk about Clinique because back when the company started, their focus was making products for people with sensitive skin. The salespeople wear white lab coats because of it. I don't see them that way anymore!

  • @quirkybeauty

    Interesting that the cleanser is your secret Drunk Elephant product- points out the differences in our skin types since its my least favorite product. I can't give up my C-Firma serum; I've tried other alleged dupes but my skin just loves their formula. I happen to love the Clinique balm. I can't remember the last time I bought it, but I always enjoy any samples I manage to receive. I think you get so many 111Skin requests because they've been pushing products through subscription boxes. I haven't loved any of the products I've used. I just got a 5-pack of sheet masks in my latest Boxycharm box valued at $135 that's pink. Not sure about that.

    • @MadAboutSkin
      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +2

      Hey hun thats super interesting to hear about the 111SKIN being given away a lot in boxes as that would explain why I get so many requests for information.. I think its odd that a luxury brand which thinks the can charge such outrageous prices is resulting to giving the products away in boxes- something doesnt fit.. I havent tried the pink masks myself but I do think the masks are the best products from their line even though they are a little overpriced for sure xx

    • @quirkybeauty
      @quirkybeauty 3 роки тому

      @@MadAboutSkin I just looked and I've received in the past 12 months: Cryo Acting Hydra Gel, Rose Gold Brightening Sheet Mask (both single & set of 5), Vitamin C Brightening Booster, Pollution Defense Booster, Black Diamond Eye Mask (just one- what's that going to do?). I also know they also promoted the ATP Sports Booster but I didn't receive.. It's an interesting tactic- expose your very expensive products to a new audience at an accessible price point while risking devaluing your brand. I've received products from both Ipsy and Boxycharm since about December 2019.

    Not a big fan of the Clarins skincare range as it seems to be strongly formulated with alot of fragrance, which doesnt usually sit very well with my sensitive skin type. However, their Blue Orchid face treatment oil for dehydrated skin really helps me in the winter when my face is dry or when ive exfoliated. I put a few drops in my moisturiser in the evening and my skin seems to love it!

    • @MadAboutSkin
      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +1

      Hey hun thank you so so much for watching.. I love love love the trick of popping a few drops of your favourite facial oil into your moisturiser for that extra hit of hydration its my go to hack in winter... I know what you mean about clarins way too much fragrance and I dont like their packaging that much either (though that shouldnt matter really).. I will have to try the oil you recommend when the department store are open again and we can grab some testers xx

      Have you tried the lotus oil? I’ve been using it for 10+ years. Does wonders

  • @KentuckyLiz

    Safflower oil is good for acne prone skin because of high linoleic acid content, which acne prone skin tends to be deficient in. I wouldn't recommend leaving any oil on spot prone skin but a massage and a rinse is good for that linoleic acid boost, helps break up sebum and gunk. I am describing this because I am trying to convince myself to try Clinique TTDO balm. I have a decades long aversion to anything oily or greasy on my skin...will take courage to try something that violates that personal rule.

      Hey Sophia thank you so so much for tuning in... I know what you mean about Clinique, their formulations could do with being updated as peoples tastes have moved on, we dont really want colour in our products so they could take that out without really messing with many of their products.. The cleansing balm though is one of my holiday essentials and a little luxury I take wherever I go xx

      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +1

      Hiya I hope all is good with you.. I think this is a fair shoutout.. I dont want to call any products boring as simple doesnt always mean dull.. My critique of Dr Dray is that I thought she focussed too much on the simpler products which overall I feel is boring as someone who doesnt mind some fragrance, nice packaging etc.. I hope that makes sense.. I try to include a range of products which meet as many peoples tastes as possible but I wouldnt like people to think I believe simple products are boring ones.. Sending lots of love xx

      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +1

      I think it was in the video where i shared my favourite UA-camrs.. I said that one channel I didnt watch was Dr Dray, not because I dont respect her opinion but because her focus on brands like CeraVe and other more standard brands I found less interesting as I like to discover new products and brands... The products themselves are not 'boring' however.. I hope that makes sense and I hope all is amazing with you xx

    I've just come across this video. The 111 skin celestial black diamond range use the diamond powder as a unique patented delivery system to allow the other active ingredients to penetrate into the dermis. Neither is 111skin claiming diamonds make any impact on skin surface. These are medical grade skincare products and part of what makes this brand medi grade is the level of actives and the delivery systems they use to bypass the outer layers to impact physiological changes to the skin.

    • @MadAboutSkin
      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому

      Hi James thank you so so much for watching and for sharing your thoughts... In general I think the 111 skin range is way over priced for what they deliver, I appreciate they are meant to be next level but having tried most of their products I have been really underwhelmed and I know a lot of people who feel the same ... I think if the price was a little more reasonable more people would choose them and they would expect a little less than they do in terms of results... sending you lots of love xxxx

    • @MadAboutSkin
      @MadAboutSkin  3 роки тому +1

      OMG thats a tough call for me to make as I love the Estee Lauder advanced night repair but I think its because my Mum always used it when I was growing up and so I have that nostalgia attached to it.. Looking at the ingredients there is nothing special in it which makes it worth the price tag and yet when I use it my skin is so smooth and hydrated the next day so I keep using it.. I always say the proof of the pudding and so it really works for me but I tend not to recommend it too often as just on the ingredients alone it shouldnt work as well as it does and so I wouldnt like people to buy something and be disappointed.. I know thats not a proper answer but I wanted to give you my reasons and full thoughts on the product to be totally honest and upfront xx
