Crystal Radio Project

This is a description of a basic Crystal Radio project that I prepared for my Virtual Grade 5 class in the Ottawa Catholic School Board in June of 2021. The video includes a wiring diagram of the project. And it also works! You may want to pause this video during the playback if you plan to use it to build your own Crystal Radio.
My crystal Radio project was inspired by this video: • How to Make/Build a Cr... Most of gthe ideas came from this video. But some things like the ground connection, and the sweeper blade for the tuner in my project are different in this video.
List of material to build this Crystal Radio.
1.Germanium Diode (N134)
2.Crystal earphone.
3.Magnet Wire
4.Scrap wood to make the radio base.
5.Used Bicycle spoke for tuning bar.
6. 2 6” x 6” sheets of Aluminum foil
7. 7” x 7” inch piece of paper.
8.Paper tower roll
9.Toilet paper roll.
10.Sheet of light sandpaper
11.Masking tape
12.Scrap wood to make the capacitor holder.
13.Light duty electrical wire. For example 22 AWG gauge.
14.Alligator clip
15.Basic construction tools such as a screwdriver and screws to assemble base and capacitor holder.
16.Washer for tuning rod
17.Long wire for antenna. Or you can purchase an antenna wire kit.
