There will never be another. Im a Gen Xer but love and am a student of her era films. The most beautiful woman that ever lived. God Bless Rita Hayworth.
Yeah and both lived such tragic lives off camera but had similar trajectories it's funny I see so many similarities between her Dorothy Dandridge and Marilyn Monroe all endured sexual abuse as children all endured domestic violence all became addicted to alcohol and prescription pills as a way to cope with the pain
Wonderful how Ed guided her through it knowing she was nervous then gently let her know it was over then she melted and gave that wonderful laugh. Great clip.
Oh my god, that fallen shoulder strap! Must have added so much to her anxiety! But she comes across as charming and sweet, very much the opposite of her screen image as the siren, sexiest woman alive, and all that stuff.
I don't think Rita even noticed that fallen shoulder strap. Too nervous to realise. Wonder if she saw a playback of the clip? Must have gotten even more anxiety after. Sweet Rita.
Rita Heyward is A LATINO, they BLEACHED HER Hair& " taught her to loose her accent. Look on iconic America at het NATURAL LATIN BEFORE BEAUTY ummmm they WHITEWASHED HER😢😢
I'm a man and I'm a great Rita Hayworth fan but the condescending interview of Ed Sullivan is absolutely disgusting. Thankfully that era is in the toilet.
if hollywood ladies had a "Best all around" award her and dorothy Lamour would be the finalists beauty class conservativism personality magnatism dancing
I've also been waiting for someone to upload Carol Burnett's spoof on the movie "Gilda" ca. 1970. As I recall, it was entitled "Golda"....Rita thought the skit was so hilarious that she contacted the "CBS" to let them know and subsequently guest starred on it.....
Rita was not Jewish. She was raised in a Catholic family of Spanish descent on her fathers side and English and Irish descent on her Mothers side. She raised her children in the Christian faith.
I’ve been a Hayworth fan since the early eighties and when I see “new” clips of her my jaw still drops at her beauty.
Agreed! She was incredible!

Oh my god, that fallen shoulder strap! Must have added so much to her anxiety! But she comes across as charming and sweet, very much the opposite of her screen image as the siren, sexiest woman alive, and all that stuff.

My Queen!!!!
Actresses in the 1940s and 50s looked stunning unlike today when they are full of botox and plastic surgeries 😞
Agree

Yikes
They had surgery back then as well. Nosejobs, chins shaved down, silicone injected directly (which later caused infections) etc etc
Oh, and if you have the whole interview I would love it, thank you!
She is fantastic
Such a nasty interviewer, trying to touch her all the time, standing too close and being a pushy disrespectful sexist.
She is a marvel ❤
Please could you upload the video of the performance of The 5 Latinos in The Ed Sullivan Show in 1964 💗
