Very good tips for bright sunny conditions... For low light or cloudy conditions, always start with topwater (buzz, spook, frog , popper etc). A couple reasons being you get the fish away from cover and have a better chance getting it in the boat, also you have a better chance of not getting snagged and "blowing out" a good spot to retrieve your lure.
