    What a great train chase video! So much to unpack here boy those aluminum cars sure are quiet when they’re empty, and those painted covered hoppers with all their pretty colors on them that’s just not cheap it’s nice to see the railroad taking pride in its brand! Also I believe the police car at Mena is a 1939.

    Kansas City Southern is truly one of these greatest railroads like Norfolk Southern.

    I remember seeing ads for this video while reading A Trains magazines as a kid! Glad I found this since it reminds me of times before the merger even though KCS (up until the merger) didn’t run into Chicago!

    Very good video , just imagine taking a passenger train from Kansas City to Houston , Texas on that railroad . Beautiful sights to see . Great ending of the video to end in Mena , Arkansas a little town known around the world by hot rodders thanks the Brodix Company manufacturers of aluminum cylinder heads and blocks .

    In actual time, how long between trains?

    • @RailwayProductions
      @RailwayProductions  Рік тому

      Being a single track line they tended to "fleet" them in a single direction. The fuel racks in Heavener can hold two train in each direction at a time. So we'd get two northbound then two southbound etc. So sometimes one could wait in a spot and get a couple of trains a few minutes from each other, and other times you could wait an hour and a half.

    These cars must newer. No paint work on them

      I'm assuming that you mean the covered hoppers. Yes, in 2009 they were new. When I did the Heavener sub program in 2021 (not yet on UA-cam, but the prewiew is) they were tired-looking.
