Thank you guys for taking the time to post this video. I came across this the beginning of 2022 and JUST completed my fireplace transformation. The backer board and the adhesive made it SO much easier than the mesh and mortar application. Again, many thanks, you helped make my project a reality.

I liked the video, best one I’ve seen for laying stone. I didn’t notice the music really until I read the other comments. Some people are wrapped way to tight and need to chill.
I hate to say it but I couldn't watch beyond two minutes due to the overbearing music. Looks like a fantastic video- surely you still have the footage in the computer. Go remix it and tone down that music.

I see this a lot but everyone forgets to add a conduit for the other cables (HDMI) down to where all your components will be.
Now days your TV, almost all TV's have wireless and it works. I am with you on the HDMI but now with one of my TV's down stares... thing streams via wifi and works perfect. What I would do is put in a cat6 network outlet. More reliable then WIFI.
I want to do a stone veneer fireplace that stops at the mantle. It’s been very difficult to find UA-cam videos on how to do that because all these guys do the stone veneer all the way to the ceiling and I want it to stop at the mantle. Can anyone provide a link to a video that shows how to do this?

I had four deep shelves on top of the firepalce which I covered with 3/8 plywood and planning to put the same style stones from Lowes. Can I put the stone directly on the plywood or do I need to put a metal lath or chicken wire on the plywood before putting the stones?

They should have staggered the joints on the concrete board
I'd add, the floor needs whey better quality protection , I'd bet its damaged . Also cut outside, wth its concrete an the very sharp chips are being stepped/ground into the floor, and dragged in an out of work area. Just a couple cents, I do have more tho.

If you cut the music for the talking parts it would be ideal. However, it works well during the non talking parts. 👍
