I've never played 3rd strike, but I do love the Ryu vs Ken match up in smash. Usually when I find someone who plays Ken when I'm playing Ryu, we dash to the middle of the stage, fist bump, then dash back to the opposite side of the stage.
I recently bought the 30th anniversary collection on sale and always find myself alternating between this iconic duo over the many SF games. Ken's theme is probably my favorite SF character theme of all time.
Cool to see Max still does these, just recently started from Episode 1. This is a video concept I wanna try to spin on my channel. Starting to gain more interest in SF lately too.
Ryu and Ken are the best Duo in Game History, Their Relationship with Chun LI of course is so wholesome and awesome. Those 3 started street fighter. Those 3 are in every game. that last set starting around 15:40 was perfect. like, EVERYTHING was perfect. even the particular Ryu that was used was perfect. i'm not a fan of the red gloves on Ryu. i liked the brown/black gloves more because it makes the headband stand out IMO. but yea, GREAT set!!! :D
Ok but how smooth was that parry to Super at 1:05 😵💫 I know I only started played 3rd strike a few days ago and learned cancels into supers pretty fast but idk if I'll ever be this smooth/consistent with it...goals to work towards!
I've heard Birdie was complete ass back in Alpha 2, but is he better in Alpha 3? I really want to try out the alpha games, and I like playing Birdie in 5.

Street Fighter was so much more fun in the Alpha/3 era. They should get back to that melding of speed and style. This is how good fighting games were when they weren't built for online play.
I've never played 3rd Strike so can someone be kind enough to tell me the difference between Ryu and Ken gameplay wise? Except for the supers of course
Ryu is slower and so tends to have a slower play style, but hits harder and takes more damage. Ken and Sean are a bit faster, but have bit less health. And Akuma has the most aggressive faster paced play style, but has the least health of them four
Ken is a "staple" character now, but imo he was the only character that felt out of place in sf2turbo. That Blond/Japanese duo was way overplayed in Japnese games and media back then, still kinda is.
I want to play third strike more often online but where can i play it? I already play the 30th anniversary but i dont find many people on there. Always the same people. I play it on the ps5 and i also want to learn the game more
I main ken, but currently I have only an 8bitdo controller and it's just not precise enough. The joysticks get in the way of inputs... especially multiple dragon punches. So basically I just have to play almost all fundamentals...which works but I'm sure people would complain about it being boring...pfft I'll do whatever I have to win...
Call me a 'member berry if you will, but it saddens me to know that Third Strike marked the end of good Street Fighter; badass and fluid 2D animation, a coherent story direction, an awesome art direction, and a focus on awesome characters and martial arts! You had choices with the Super Arts with how you'd play a character. Now it's goofy nightmare Bison faces, suddenly-buff proto-Nazi kids, singular win poses and supers, Rashid absolutely ruining the reunion between Guile and Charlie, and green Brazilian monsters making goofy faces at crane machines. Honestly, Twelve is probably the weakest thing to me when it comes to the roster and story, but everything about this game makes it an amazing work of art! Will always hold a place in my video gaming memory forever.
