Algorithm threw me this video, don't even really watch RL content. I just want to say a few things: Firstly, you are 16 years old. Your peers and classmates are also assumedly 16 year olds. Kids that age can be cruel. High schoolers have a tendency to see someone behave a certain way, and then replicate that behavior to fit in because all they want is to be seen as being part of the “in” crowd of whatever friend group they belong to. It’s shitty, but it’s real. You and your classmates are only two years away from a dramatic shift in life. Leaving the biome of a school district is such a dramatic change in pace. You and everyone else will be introduced to new people and many will spread out, states away from each other. Out in the world will be other people, that come from different places and they too will be looking for friends. And outside of your current biome is where you’ll spend the majority of your life, and I promise there’s a great chance it will feel less lonely than this if you put in the work. Thankfully, people tend to become a little less cruel after highschool. There were a few things you said that worry me, and I just want to call them out: Friendships are definitely worth having even if they only last two years. Those memories last forever, and being happy and non-isolated in the now still has a lot of value. People will fade in and out of your life very frequently after the age of 18. That is okay and its natural. Secondly, try to embrace the people that want to invest in you. As corny as it sounds/feels, hang out with your parents and enjoy it. If you don’t love the activities they are choosing/bringing you to, try to see if there is a hobby both you and a parent can take up together, your parents sound awesome. Too, with your church friends, if they seem interested in hanging out and you enjoy their presence, go hang out with them. Again, even if those relationships are temporary, its valuable that you won’t be lonely in the now and you will be able to look back on those memories fondly. The last thing I want to warn you of is spending too much time in isolated hobbies. I play games all the time, and try to make it as much of a social experience as I can, but I admit I too often isolate myself in games my own friends aren’t interested in playing. It’s awesome that you enjoy Rocket League as much as you do, and you should absolutely keep it in your life if it brings you joy. But know that you can’t choose what games your friends will want to play. If you aren’t furthering any friendships by playing rocket league, try finding a new game or hobby that you can share the time you’d typically spend playing RL. Don't throw out RL, but share that time. Bonus points if you find a new hobby gets you out into the real world where you can actually meet new people and make friendships. I am a little bit older, but I see high school aged kids at my local disc golf shop all the time. I see high school aged kids hanging out at my local board games store playing Magic The Gathering all the time. Those are two things that I like, but there are so many other activities/hobbies with IRL communities out there. Hopefully you can find something you like (that can help you meet new people) too. Life's a long strange journey, and I promise there will be highs to accompany the lows. Take it easy, my friend

I'm going to my freshman year of high school and am very excited and am hoping everything pans out and maybe. See what their esports rl league is like. As I'll be able to play in person with them. And friends move on. I just get really attached to them, so it's hard letting go. But it's a part of life and has gotten better at it. I just get really invested and care a lot. Idk why hut that's how I am. I love everyone at my friends church, and I feel way more loved and involved by them than my personal ward. And I've never thought of really hanging out tbh. I've seen them as church friends. I just don't go all the time. More of when I want to or feel like it. My neighbor had church trauma and hates it, and I'm not super big into religion but still am invested and just don't want to have that happen yo me like it did to him. But I'm probably just thinking too much tbh. And with activities outside of video games, I used to play soccer and had to quit as I had some health issues that made me not be able to do much. And I get lightheaded and feel like I'll pass out after playing for a couple of minutes. I can play basketball, but all my friends that I played with kinda just left me, but I could just play and find others like me. And I'm trying to find activities like what I said esports, swimming, and mountain biking. I am hoping I can handle those activities. All my friends except 1 online friend who's 22. I've known him for 3 years, and I love rl, and he does to so it's nice sharing the same thing. It does get lonely and isolating. I am hoping I can slowly do other things, but still rl. I love my parents, and I'm going four-wheeling with my dad tmr and am hoping to have fun. I love hanging out with them. I've just seen it as I kind of have to hang out, but I never understood why and how I can enjoy it, if that makes sense. I've improved a lot. I am very happy, and tbh I shouldn't be here. Sometimes that's life man, people come and go and like I'm sure a lot of other people have said you're only 16, and theres obviously gonna be a lot more people for you to meet. If you are a social person that's great and most likely you're gonna make new friends, just make sure not to choose to stick with a certain group of friends because you don't have others around if it's a bad group, I've had to learn that too. Pray to God about it as well, I don't know if you're a christian but I know it's always helped because sometimes he's gonna take people out of your life that you don't deserve or need and vice versa. It's hard accepting losing friends, but like you said, it's life. And yes, people have said I'm only 16, but you and them have a valid point. I have a whole lot in front of me. I love being social and know I'll make friends. I just need to not be so attached. Even hough i go to church, I'm not the best at praying, but it does help a lot, and it's just discipline and honesty love. I am a Christian and love it. It's honestly saved my life and has helped a lot. And I've learned a lot from it, but I know he does it like u said, who takes people out. People are in your life for a reason. Some stay some don't. You got your whole life ahead of you man! You're only 16. I remember when I graduated highschool, I had a decent amount of friends but as soon as I graduated we stopped talking and I felt empty. You gotta realize that people will come and go in your life. That 22 year old kid that you're hanging with clearly sees something in you and enjoys your company. You're also 16 and assuming the kids in ur school are around the same age they are most likely immature and apathetic. All you really need is 1-2 really good friends rather than 10 friends that are so so. Don't sweat the small stuff, and it does get better. Give it time and have faith that the tables will turn in ur favor.

I know there are allready many comments, but if it helps i can tell you. With friends its the same as with a romantic relationship and breakups, if you have them you have the greatest time of your life and if you loose them or they break up with you its the worst feeling ever and you wish you never even let them so close to you. I recently gone through a breakup nad that was what i was feeling but then i remembered how beatiful the time was and i was happy that a made this experiences with that person, even if that means im hurt right now. And i gone out on the dating market again after a few moths and im happy now again. Life is feeling horrible many times but because of that we can enjoy the good times even more. So please go out and try to connect with new people and new friends and dont think about how it could end and just focus on the moment right now and the good time you have with them. Hey man, Same age as you, we're moving soon and even though i'll still obv have contact with a lot of my current friends, i won't be able to see them except for like maybe twice a year. Which is basically a recipe for a broken friendship, and it makes me feel that i need to find people that really mean a lot to me and preserve that bond. Man I know how you feel, I was never liked by anyone since second grade, I always new I was different from the rest of my school . I know what’s is being low in the dirt both literally and mentally, I was bullied for more than 8 years, I lost the ability to cry in fifth grade and my mental health has always been bad. I have only 1 irl friend to this day and online I have maybe 2. And I know how much you can care about someone and they just simply go away and leave you or just ignore you. Ive seen a lot of “friends” be there for a bit and then just treat you like trash or just even forget your existence, I know where you are, where no one sees you as a good person or even just a human and they just decide for no reason to treat you like nothing for no reason at all. I understand how you feel and let me tell you man that even tho it’s not a good time in your life, things will become better man, you’ll meet new people eventually. You are 16, many years ahead of you man, life might be treating you bad not but it doesn’t mean it will always be like this, you’ll find the right people to be with and they will treat you as you deserve. I've been bullied online and in person. And I was depressed for years. And it sucks not having anyone than family *basically* but there family you're supposed to be together. I've always tried to be a good person, and it's hard that people don't see it. And if I talk to ppl who are adults. They just say oh there's much worse, but they don't understand or try to understand your situation. For some reason, adults online understand my persona or my care for others. Than kids these days. although my situation isnt similar to yours, i think i understand how it feels, i had a couple of friends and was very close with my classmates in 10th grade, but ever since i started studying at home for my alevels during 11th grade, i started to feel a bit lonely at times, especially when some days felt the exact same, i had 2 people who id hang out with all the time, but since my house is extremely far away from everything (takes around 45 minutes to go to school by car) , and because one of them travelled to a diff country last year, we would only be able to talk online
@realess8990 No one had the exact same experience in life. But either way thx for sharing. Friends are tough to deal with. And losing them is tough. Qnd I'm sorry to hear that. Especially when I've been through it. Basically, 1/4 of the school new me and 1/8 were friends. Everyone loved me *Well most I did get bullied a lot* But I have lost almost every single one. For me, hanging out makes me way happier because. That's how I enjoy talking. And it just makes me happier. 😌 But, I've lost every way to hang out with anyone.
I'd say don't try to be too nice. When people feel too much attention/care from someone when it's not reciprocated they tend to try to create distance. Basically just do your thing and maybe be a bit more chill about friendships and socializing. Also, accept invites to hangouts and don't put much weight on other's willingness to play video games with you. This is advice from a 23y/o who isn't perfect either but I think you'd benefit from this advice. Most likely you'll find new friends as your personality solidifies.

immerse yourself in a project, something that takes effort, skill and time, and people will recognize the dedication, and at worst, it will help you avoid depression. It doesn't even have to do with RL or any game in general but if you succeed, it could change your life for the better
@JG-wl3id Yea, I'm trying out different things. Especially stuff that I've wanted to do. And it seems like I enjoy rl and sports. It's just hard because I love excersizing. And I found rl I enjoy it. So I'm hoping to do that and maybe succeed. I'm just trying new hobbies right now. Rl has helped a lot to avoid my depression and I've got pretty good at it. Secondly, try to embrace the people that want to invest in you. As corny as it sounds/feels, hang out with your parents and enjoy it. If you don’t love the activities they are choosing/bringing you to, try to see if there is a hobby both you and a parent can take up together, your parents sound awesome. Too, with your church friends, if they seem interested in hanging out and you enjoy their presence, go hang out with them. Again, even if those relationships are temporary, its valuable that you won’t be lonely in the now and you will be able to look back on those memories fondly.
The last thing I want to warn you of is spending too much time in isolated hobbies. I play games all the time, and try to make it as much of a social experience as I can, but I admit I too often isolate myself in games my own friends aren’t interested in playing. It’s awesome that you enjoy Rocket League as much as you do, and you should absolutely keep it in your life if it brings you joy. But know that you can’t choose what games your friends will want to play.
If you aren’t furthering any friendships by playing rocket league, try finding a new game or hobby that you can share the time you’d typically spend playing RL. Don't throw out RL, but share that time. Bonus points if you find a new hobby gets you out into the real world where you can actually meet new people and make friendships. I am a little bit older, but I see high school aged kids at my local disc golf shop all the time. I see high school aged kids hanging out at my local board games store playing Magic The Gathering all the time. Those are two things that I like, but there are so many other activities/hobbies with IRL communities out there. Hopefully you can find something you like (that can help you meet new people) too.

I'm going to my freshman year of high school and am very excited and am hoping everything pans out and maybe. See what their esports rl league is like. As I'll be able to play in person with them.
And friends move on. I just get really attached to them, so it's hard letting go. But it's a part of life and has gotten better at it. I just get really invested and care a lot. Idk why hut that's how I am.
I love everyone at my friends church, and I feel way more loved and involved by them than my personal ward. And I've never thought of really hanging out tbh. I've seen them as church friends. I just don't go all the time. More of when I want to or feel like it. My neighbor had church trauma and hates it, and I'm not super big into religion but still am invested and just don't want to have that happen yo me like it did to him. But I'm probably just thinking too much tbh.
And with activities outside of video games, I used to play soccer and had to quit as I had some health issues that made me not be able to do much. And I get lightheaded and feel like I'll pass out after playing for a couple of minutes. I can play basketball, but all my friends that I played with kinda just left me, but I could just play and find others like me. And I'm trying to find activities like what I said esports, swimming, and mountain biking. I am hoping I can handle those activities.
All my friends except 1 online friend who's 22. I've known him for 3 years, and I love rl, and he does to so it's nice sharing the same thing. It does get lonely and isolating. I am hoping I can slowly do other things, but still rl.
I love my parents, and I'm going four-wheeling with my dad tmr and am hoping to have fun. I love hanging out with them. I've just seen it as I kind of have to hang out, but I never understood why and how I can enjoy it, if that makes sense.

Sometimes that's life man, people come and go and like I'm sure a lot of other people have said you're only 16, and theres obviously gonna be a lot more people for you to meet. If you are a social person that's great and most likely you're gonna make new friends, just make sure not to choose to stick with a certain group of friends because you don't have others around if it's a bad group, I've had to learn that too. Pray to God about it as well, I don't know if you're a christian but I know it's always helped because sometimes he's gonna take people out of your life that you don't deserve or need and vice versa. You got your whole life ahead of you man! You're only 16. I remember when I graduated highschool, I had a decent amount of friends but as soon as I graduated we stopped talking and I felt empty. You gotta realize that people will come and go in your life. That 22 year old kid that you're hanging with clearly sees something in you and enjoys your company. You're also 16 and assuming the kids in ur school are around the same age they are most likely immature and apathetic. All you really need is 1-2 really good friends rather than 10 friends that are so so. Don't sweat the small stuff, and it does get better. Give it time and have faith that the tables will turn in ur favor.

With friends its the same as with a romantic relationship and breakups, if you have them you have the greatest time of your life and if you loose them or they break up with you its the worst feeling ever and you wish you never even let them so close to you. I recently gone through a breakup nad that was what i was feeling but then i remembered how beatiful the time was and i was happy that a made this experiences with that person, even if that means im hurt right now. And i gone out on the dating market again after a few moths and im happy now again. Life is feeling horrible many times but because of that we can enjoy the good times even more. So please go out and try to connect with new people and new friends and dont think about how it could end and just focus on the moment right now and the good time you have with them. Man I know how you feel, I was never liked by anyone since second grade, I always new I was different from the rest of my school . I know what’s is being low in the dirt both literally and mentally, I was bullied for more than 8 years, I lost the ability to cry in fifth grade and my mental health has always been bad. I have only 1 irl friend to this day and online I have maybe 2. And I know how much you can care about someone and they just simply go away and leave you or just ignore you. Ive seen a lot of “friends” be there for a bit and then just treat you like trash or just even forget your existence, I know where you are, where no one sees you as a good person or even just a human and they just decide for no reason to treat you like nothing for no reason at all. although my situation isnt similar to yours, i think i understand how it feels, i had a couple of friends and was very close with my classmates in 10th grade, but ever since i started studying at home for my alevels during 11th grade, i started to feel a bit lonely at times, especially when some days felt the exact same, i had 2 people who id hang out with all the time, but since my house is extremely far away from everything (takes around 45 minutes to go to school by car) , and because one of them travelled to a diff country last year, we would only be able to talk online

Friends are tough to deal with. And losing them is tough. Qnd I'm sorry to hear that. Especially when I've been through it. Basically, 1/4 of the school new me and 1/8 were friends. Everyone loved me *Well most I did get bullied a lot* But I have lost almost every single one. For me, hanging out makes me way happier because. That's how I enjoy talking. And it just makes me happier. 😌

I'd say don't try to be too nice. When people feel too much attention/care from someone when it's not reciprocated they tend to try to create distance. Basically just do your thing and maybe be a bit more chill about friendships and socializing. Also, accept invites to hangouts and don't put much weight on other's willingness to play video games with you.
This is advice from a 23y/o who isn't perfect either but I think you'd benefit from this advice. Most likely you'll find new friends as your personality solidifies.

immerse yourself in a project, something that takes effort, skill and time, and people will recognize the dedication, and at worst, it will help you avoid depression. It doesn't even have to do with RL or any game in general but if you succeed, it could change your life for the better
