    It is a struggle for me to find the words to express how grateful I am to God for the information presented in this video! A few more missing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle (in my mind's eye) of God's beautiful character have been put in place! Thank you, and may God bless the work you do!

    This entire interaction was a blessing! I'll have to watch it a few more times, but thank you, Father, for giving people such clarity on the Cosmic Battle. Thank you for loving us so much. You did EVERYTHING possible to save us. Blessings to Pastor David & Dr. John!

    Dr Peckham’s book Theodicy of Love has been one of the most transformative & spiritually deepening of those read in my adult life. This was a wonderful presentation giving a broad overview of the topic & tackling tough questions. I greatly appreciate his desire to stick to only Biblical sources to give us tools & ways to show the underpinnings of the cosmic conflict in the Biblical narrative. Many thanks to both of you for your work within & without Adventism to bring these messages to people - even about the toughest subjects.

    I am grateful for this discussion. He certainly out-talked you David, but with good reason. Like you I could mostly respond with ‘umm’ 🤔 (with understanding more than questioning)
    God is always acting out of love in our behalf. We are actors in this too because of our free will, and the agents of evil are as well. There is so much we don’t know about this great conflict but we can trust God amidst it all that all things are working for our good 🙏🏾🙏🏾

    Whew! Had to watch this in segments. Will have to go back and watch again. Should be a way to slow the tape down a tad. I am so encouraged that a man with Dr. Peckham’s convictions is teaching in the theology department.

    And the people were astonished (Matt 7:28)…that’s how I felt at the end of this presentation. So grateful it was recorded so I could stop and start constantly to take notes. It amazes me that God’s remedial will takes into account the selfish decisions of his creatures and yet He brings about the best good that is possible. No wonder that the answers to our prayers seem to be delayed, God is orchestrating a complicated set of circumstances to bring about His purpose. What an incredible God!

    Fantastic job, guys! I've been blessed by your insights and explanations. To be clear, my objection to the "rules of engagement" idea is that it suggests that God would make deals or enter into agreements with the adversary. God can place limits on Satan's activities without having to offer anything in return, and He can tighten or relax those limits as He sees fit. The limits on God's own options are His own principles, His character, and of course the circumstances that He has wisely chosen to allow to "get in His way," so to speak. The Scripture is crystal clear that He does whatever He pleases, in heaven and on earth.

    • @marybadovinac8708

      Yes , that is a better description , I believe , of the Bibles intended depiction of God as it portrays His Character and Will .

    • @CaptE77
      @CaptE77 2 роки тому

      I look at it a little bit differently. I think the rules of engagement are God’s rules and I don’t think he was making deals or entering into any agreements with the enemy. He allows the enemy a certain latitude, but he could easily destroy the enemy at any time.

    • @bibleprophecy2019
      @bibleprophecy2019 2 роки тому

      Of course God has limits - not in the physical sense of being unable to do something, but because of His nature (love) He cannot use redemptive violence. Besides, with His character under question He's necessarily limited in how He can respond without butressing the accusations abd insinuations from the devil.

    • @gordonandhollinewhite2214
      @gordonandhollinewhite2214 2 роки тому

      @@bibleprophecy2019 I see it as ridiculous to call something a "limit" when it's not at all limiting. If human beings feel the most free when doing what is good, loving, and wise, how much more God!

    • @gordonandhollinewhite2214
      @gordonandhollinewhite2214 2 роки тому

      @@CaptE77 Sure, but I see a couple of problems with that. First is that the very language, "covenantal rules of engagement" implies a set of rules agreed upon by opponents before they engage one another in combat or competition. So, it's not good enough to say that's not what you mean. Say what you mean, and mean what you say.
      Secondly, you seem to be suggesting that God is imposing rules on Himself. Why? Is His character not sufficiently good and stable for Him to do the best thing when He does whatever He pleases? Well, like it or not, that's exactly what He does.
      "Whatever the Lord pleases He does,
      In heaven and in earth,
      In the seas and in all deep places."
      Psalm 135:6 NKJV
      That totally rules out any "rules of engagement."

  • @gordonandhollinewhite2214

    There are no "rules of engagement," only God's all-wise decisions as to how to operate.

    I did not hear the mention of the book "God's Character and the last Generation" that John Pecham contributed to along with 11 others. This book misrepresents those who advocate for a true last generation theology and it supports a false gospel that has been infiltrating the Church for a long time now to be on the same page as the evangelicals.

  • @bibleprophecy2019

    70 nations emerged from Noah's sons. Christ, by sending the 70 triumphant evangelists was prophesying that he was going to reclaim the whole of humanity through the truth that would unfold at the cross.
