So talented! Keep going strong, your work just gets better and better. All the best for the future.. I can picture you leading a world-wide thrifted transformations company, you can change the world ;)
Some people in the comments are really trying to come for this girl's neck. I keep seeing "Maybe you should design stuff for someone a bit bigger.", or "The short stuff is a bit tasteless." 1) She already transformed outfits for bigger women on the tv show "The Talk." 2) She's designing stuff for herself and her style. I don't understand why a youtube about a girl making clothes for HERSELF has to be inclusive to all. Just be inspired and create something that fits your taste. Let suh do her.
Thank you! Most thrift flippers who do videos are flipping for themselves and their own tastes. Enjoy the videos, appreciate the talent, and adjust ideas to one’s own taste and body shape.
When you watch your videos you can really tell what type of style you like and I like that because it proves that you don't just do it for the viewers more so for something for you
The swirl to make the ruffle at the bottom of the shirt!! 💕💕💕💕 I'm so happy you showed this! There has been so many times I thought something would be cuter with a ruffle but not enough material left over to make one. Thank you for teaching me something new!!
I'm quite impressed and blown away by this transformation. I don't remember how I ended up on this video, but it was so uplifting and I'm glad I did. Creative, intelligent, articulate, beautiful, and classy. An excellent presentation all around!
I know it wouldn't be a transformation, but I would love to see what kind of outfit you could make with the reversible sequin fabric! Maybe buy a few of the pillows & 'transform' them!
I love this video! I'm so proud because in the last video I mentioned how I'd prefer seeing you transform clothes that were your own size into other things you could wear, AND YOU DID IT! This makes me glad because people who are very large actually need to keep their dreadfully limited options for thrifted clothing open just so they have something at all to wear. This is very kind and considerate of you to keep their needs in mind, while still giving great sewing ideas and tips!
I love how you took something super basic and made something super cute and feminine out of it. It's still cold in Boston but I'll remember this DIY for summer :D
I've only been subscribed to your channel for a few days, I'm already binging your thrifted transformation videos while seam ripping thrifted items I'm about to transform.
You should totally make this as a business!!! Where you let your subscribers send you clothing pieces and you use your magic and turn it into something real cute, and you send it back!!! xx
Watching your videos always inspires me to try wearing/creating different styles, but I am not a very confident at sewing so, I always end up psyching myself out of it.
I started watching your videos a couple years back, your thirsted transformations have always been my favourites! This year at my school I started doing fashion design studio and I absolutely love it. You inspired me to want to do it, so thank you so much❤️❤️
You do a lot of cute transformations , April. I love this one. I think I love it for these 2 reasons, #1 it is white and whiye is my favorite color for clothing. #2 , the top is laced and i absolutely love corsets . I love the vintage clothing from the Victorian period like corseys and well onlu want high top shoes like they wore back then. I have always lived that era ever sinve i can remember, even as a 6 year old. fantastic find , fantastic redo! As always. Great work.
Yes I agree! It could've used a lining but since I only used what I had to work with and didn't spend money purchasing more material, I just left it as is lol :)
An option for lining your projects could be using old pillow cases. Look for them while at the thrift stores. Solid colors and soft fabrics will be best choices. Putting in a lining will challenge your sewing skills.
coolirpa I’m not sure if this is something you do, but Annika Victoria keeps a scrap bin to reduce fabric waste. Maybe that could be a useful way to have more fabric on hand, and a way to challenge your design and sewing skills.
I'm very interested to find out what type of over head camera setup you are using when you film the cutting portion and also what type of setup you use to film the sewing portions?
I like what you did with the shorts there. It turned out like shorts that move like a skirt. I will have to watch this again. (Watches again) Oh, I get it! That is very clever!
So I need some advice. I accidentally bought a pair of low rise jeans and wanted to know if there's a way to make them high rise without them looking dodgy af... loved the video!
That will be very difficult to achieve without them looking like maternity clothes. The best way I can think of is to seam rip the waistband off the jeans. Find a fabric that is as close as possible to the original jean fabric (this is really really hard to find! there is almost always a little bit of color difference.) and make a pattern piece for a high waisted waistband, cut that out of the new fabric and sew it on. But it will almost always look a little off i'm afraid. It is of course always easier to reduce the size and shape of clothes than to make them bigger.
I have no experience with sewing but I'm gonna agree that it's not gonna be easy to make it look right. Okay, you remove the waistband and add fabric. What is gonna happen to the pockets, fake or not, they will be lower than the waistband which will look weird itself.
You might be able to take off the waistband, then sew in some different fabric, like with a floral print or something, and then sew the waistband back on top? Maybe also put some extra pockets on with the floral fabric so it ties it all together. Just an idea since finding a similar denim fabric seems to be difficult and still the seams would be obvious so why not make it look intentional?
I usually rip the seam of the crotch a bit and then sew it few cm lower and it works well I think.. You will have to resize resize the waist after though, that can be done pretty easily and with several techniques
Seam rip the crotch area of the jeans. Try them on, and Mark the pant leg when the waist hits your desired Level. Sew the pant legs together at that area, creating a new crotch area. Tip: Use jeans that are a bit too long when doing this, since it will also shorten the length of the legs
Hey there 🤗 Another way u could make the top is to cut 2 of every piece. Then join 2 tops sewing all around and then turn through. That way it’s fully lined, no see through lining, and no raw edges to stitch under. Also if made in another fabric ( lace for example) you can have 2 tops in one 😃 being it now a fully reversible top 😀
amazing transformation! (as usual haha) next time, could you make a video of a close up of the transformation? like the details of the corse and so on. It's nice the videos of the background and you walking, but I would also like to see more closely the clothes. Thanks!!
So you gave me courage to revamp an old summer dress I had that always used to make me pregnant. I used a hi-low cut, but now I'm stuck cause I don't know how to sew the ruffles at the bottom back on. I want to keep the ruffles because otherwise it's too high of a cut in the front
So talented! Keep going strong, your work just gets better and better. All the best for the future.. I can picture you leading a world-wide thrifted transformations company, you can change the world ;)

That would easily cost $50 somewhere, bargain lol xx
Live, Love & Learn Naturally Time spent modifying it is money too.
I love the summery vibes and that bag is So adorable. I love that you make current looking clothing and style with modern accessories.
I'm quite impressed and blown away by this transformation. I don't remember how I ended up on this video, but it was so uplifting and I'm glad I did. Creative, intelligent, articulate, beautiful, and classy. An excellent presentation all around!

Lainey Bug she did transform curtains once :)
I cannot be the only one here who doesn’t sew but is always watching her videos 😂
You're the ONLY youtube channel that I watch religiously every week when a new ep comes out. Keep up the awesome work April! Happy 2018!

Yup yup it hurts how true this is
Shadypelt when you live in Florida and can’t relate:(
Seeing how the facings helped finish the edges was great! Also really cool to see how it encases straps or loops. Good tips!
Oh wow..again coolirpa your magical hand did a wonderful job again. That is a nice, neat and bedutiful peice..bravo.
Love seeing the slash and spread technique to create a new ruffle! I can totally use that!
Watching your videos always inspires me to try wearing/creating different styles, but I am not a very confident at sewing so, I always end up psyching myself out of it.
You have the ability to make anything look great. That two piece looks amazing!
The original matching set reminded me to a doctor’s hospital uniform 😂😂 but the final result was amazing. Love it.

You do such an amazing job on the voice over you only say what’s important not what’s obvious
I feel like this fabric could have used more lining as it’s very thin, but otherwise cute job
Yes I agree! It could've used a lining but since I only used what I had to work with and didn't spend money purchasing more material, I just left it as is lol :)
The transformation would make a great pair of summer pajamas!!
An option for lining your projects could be using old pillow cases. Look for them while at the thrift stores. Solid colors and soft fabrics will be best choices. Putting in a lining will challenge your sewing skills.

@@teresacoffman5529 pretty sure she already knows how and what to make linings for stuff she creates 🤦😂
