i feel like every reseller has that item or two they thought they would win big on and it turned out to be an L we keep it moving! thanks for all the help over the years with reselling wishing ya’ll a good 2022
This video reminded me of a time back in 2016 when I bought a thousand dollars worth of high quality PC parts, then I put the computer together, formatted it, listed it on eBay and it took a year and dropping the price each month to finally get a buyer. I lost a lot of money between the sale, shipping, and fees. My dream of starting a custom computer gaming rig business died that day.
Honestly I think your channel is one of the more informative channels on YT, I mean all of the reselling channels have something to offer in my opinion but yours seems to be the most well rounded. Even if I already know what you say I feel like it’s well thought out and delivered. Definitely appreciate this channel.
So sweet of you to give some items away. Not many resellers would give away inventory as a gift and on top of that quality items worth good money. YOU GUYS ROCK!! Love your videos. Subscribed to both channels!
It happens to all of us, but I look at all the profit I make on all the other items I sell. So in the big picture, you’re not really losing money. Loved the video and appreciate all y’all do!
Thanks for all the info you share and for your generosity in the resale community and in your home community. Glad to subscribe to your new channel. More to watch and learn 🙌
I also buy things simply because the advertising or packing graphics are hilarious! Sometimes my entertainment value is more than the literal profit, but I cannot help myself! :)
Thanks for referring us to the clips! I just subscribed with notifications because the content is great!! I've already learned a few things that I will be implementing NOW because it will smooth out a couple of my work processes. Thank you and keep them coming!!
I subscribed to both channel!💕. I really enjoy watching your videos, they are honest and informative. Your knowledge is remarkable, and Kali is a hoot! Love her! Your wife is very knowledgeable also, love the clips of the dogs also. Thank you for the time y’all give us!
Really good stuff! It's nice when you show the losses as well. I've already kn a short time, learned a lot from you and Callie's packing skills are legend😁
Ordered my wife your hat as a surprise gift and she was telling me she was going to order one and I had to tell her, one is coming. Thanks for all the shared knowledge. You guys rock.
That is a cool lot. Side note. Our sales we ok for a while but after we bought some studio lights and a white back drop, holy smokes sales are really good. We went from maybe 1-2 sales a day to at least 5 a day or more. Go figure better photos makes more sales hahaha... I don't think we are rookies anymore; I love watching the bell light up!!! ok be good be safe and keep up the great content. Can't wait to see the next update of the home build. Ryan I absolutely love your t shirt style.
Losing money and bad buys are definitely part of the business! You just hope that as you learn they become less and less. LOL I subscribe to both of your channels! Thank you for such a wonderful opportunity to win :)
canadian shipping is SUCH a wild card, hard to gauge some times and def had a couple of '15¢' sales because of it lol had orders cost less to ship to Cali then within my same province! its wild sometimes... subscribed to both channels AND bought a hat 😍
Subscribed to both! I watch all my favorite resellers whenever I can--most times it just requires me to view at 1.5x or 2x. Haha Love the conversion material, too! Can't wait to see how it all looks when you do the final reveal.
new subscriber. I am just starting out and came across your video on how to get started. Good stuff. Thank you and thanks for making these videos to help new folks
I don’t know if you already noticed, but just tuned in and saw your link is misspelled . I think it’s supposed to be Roots and not Rots :) love your channel!
Ok. I m now in both you tubes!! I m a seller who has been away from eBay for three years for a family illness. Now getting rolling again. I d love to have the package to try and flip. Thanks 😀😉
Hey Rally Roots. I have another question lol. I've been commenting a lot here lately with questions. I'm trying to learn n educate myself more on the industry because I'm doing this full time. My question is, at estate sales or garage sales or even flea markets is it ok to look up the item in front of the seller? Does it hurt the price of the item, if that makes sense? I guess I've wondered if it is good to let them know you are a reseller? Thank you again for sharing your success. My goal this year is to do 100k this year.
Love these videos with lots of different info…educational, variety of topics. I sell toys so love that you were looking at the Super Soakers and told the sad MOTU story. Besides the obvious things like McDonald’s toys, the toys I hate to sell are Melissa & Doug products. Everyone else has no trouble,..mine sit forever. Anyway, thanks for the great video. Gina in Wisconsin
Hey Rally Roots, I'm a reseller as well. I'm fairly new. I started in 2017 but had to stop because of an emergency. However, I'm starting back n the market has changed. The thrift stores n even garage sales have all increased there prices a lot. So there is hardly any meat on the bone if you will. I really want to find where n how to buy in bulk or wholesale. I've watch almost all of your videos, even the original ones. Where you scored the Yeti's n then the kitchen appliances too name a few. So how do I go about finding those connections? Is it local connections, online, or combinations. Not looking to get your sources, just ideas or thoughts on how you found those connections so I can go and find my own. I love you guys n your channel. I was a member of your mentorship in 2018. I was not able to complete it because of my emergency situation. So I've trust you guys. Thank you for your time and wanting to help people. Chad Rowe
08:10 net loss happens, $0.10 plus her time is easily cancelled by the "winners". I sold a Harley Police Air-ride seat complete kit for nearly $400 + shipping that I purchased for just $35 off FBMP. Anytime a net loss happens (like "free shipping" a 9.5" Glasbake bowl) my wife reminds me of the harley seat......good times. Great vid! Hoping the whole Masters of the Universe doesn't become Master of Disaster if that bulging box gets crushed and item damaged.
Hi..subscribed to your clips! Didn’t know you all even had clips. Cool deal. Btw from St. Pete. Not to far from you all, neighbors! Gl on your home & office build.
Had things go both… bought some vintage plastic banks at a GW that turned out to be “luck” - knew they were vintage, thought they were cool but nothing… love vintage Cap’n Crunch! Thanks for the videos and learning opportunities!
Hi just started reselling part time as a mother of 3 its hard to work full time but that has sure happened to me made mistakes and either lost money or made hardly any profit but I love all your videos and always learn something new from all your videos and the advice you give Thanks for always sharing whether it be bad or good shows you are always transparent about the reality of reselling
@@larrymiller5879 Whats your problem im not complaining I love my kids and I didnt mean it in the way that your taking it I have a job I do reselling as a part time job for extra income I was inspired and motivated to do it by this channel stop hating and giving negativity no one asked you to reply to my comment and it wasnt for you
My daughter (who is only four) has actually found me stuff to sell at thrift stores. Never underestimate the power of another pair of eyes even if they are young eyes. Especially if the young eyes are looking at toys!!😍
Be careful when you do boxes not to bulge too much. I had one that was that way on the top and they charged me an extra like $15 because they said it was considered an odd/unusual shape. Great video!
It is really easy to buy something that is cool without thinking about the price or looking carefully for flaws. I found some darling girl's shoes and bought them without realizing they had scuffs right up front on the toes. I ended up just using some red nail polish to cover up the scuffs and now my daughter loves them. So it isn't a total loss even though I had hoped to sell them. 😀
That MOTU Snake Mountain defiantly would have been a better local sale item. LOL that same Goodwill in PC that I spotted a guy Dressed up as Colonel Sanders
Just found a copy sealed CoD Modern warfare 4 for ps3. I’ve got some crazy offers on this auction. Picked it up for $2 it’s live right now. Should be a fun one to watch.
Sometimes those bad buys are good lessons in a market your not terribly familiar with so you know in the future. After your researched it a little I'm sure you learned about all the pieces that should be there. Who knows, maybe you find those pieces at a sale, and you know what they are and belong to and you can sell those pieces easier. Lots of miscellaneous pieces from vintage toys can sell for a lot of money if you can identify them properly.
I'm glad you broke down the fees on the MOTU toy although I am sorry you broke even. I knew it was close to break even because I sell big items. . A $50 CoG item that sells for $100... that is that big.. will always cut it close after fees and shipping. Shipping is the main consideration when making larger purchases. Will the value of the item be high enough to offset the high cost of shipping?? People argue that the buyer often pays for shipping but my realitiy is that by the time I negotiate a price with the potential buyer so that I compete with FREE SHIPPING items then I am paying shipping or pretty dang close. Not always, just as a rule. You probably do the math automatically with inline skates, snow boots, or any boot. That pesky shipping cost eats into profits doesn't it?
i feel like every reseller has that item or two they thought they would win big on and it turned out to be an L we keep it moving! thanks for all the help over the years with reselling wishing ya’ll a good 2022
Definitely, for me it was a Fujifim camera
I've been selling on Ebay for 25 years - and your right - not every sale is perfect! Thankfully, the good outweighs the bad! Thanks for the content!
Wow you’re an original OG. I didn’t even know eBay had been around that long 🙂
I love when you mention the items you lose money on. It helps to calculate in our heads when we shop for items and estimate what to sell them for.

OMG, I had a kitchen set of towels with those mushrooms on them years ago!!
And people look at me crazy when I say "Doubling your money is losing money"!
It happens to all of us, but I look at all the profit I make on all the other items I sell. So in the big picture, you’re not really losing money. Loved the video and appreciate all y’all do!
Enjoy all your videos. Thanks for your transparency even when the sale was not what you expected it to be.

Cannon was a major brand back in the 70's. My mom would only buy Cannon when she bought towels.
I subscribed to both channel!💕. I really enjoy watching your videos, they are honest and informative. Your knowledge is remarkable, and Kali is a hoot! Love her!

What a relief to see a real pro make a mistake on a buy occasionally and to film it! Thanks for keeping it real.
Absolutely! We’ll always keep things real. Everyone makes mistakes.

Maybe don’t start off your introduction by saying your pity story. Nobody forced you to have 3 children.

That Chicago bulls pullover and marvel shirt is so dope !
@7:19 Literally just did that today lmao. Same technique and everything with the chest crush and belly push.
It’s a solid technique lol
You guys are so true such amazing people love all the channels
Always so thankful for the content you put out!! 🤩
Be careful when you do boxes not to bulge too much. I had one that was that way on the top and they charged me an extra like $15 because they said it was considered an odd/unusual shape. Great video!
Wow USPS LOOOVES scamming people. They could just make the money legitimately, if their service wasnt useless. Shame shame
Another great video to start my day off right.
Thank you for the video. Learning a lot from you all. 💖
Love the videos, they have helped me alot reselling on my own.
While going down $.15 (plus time and effort) doesn't seem like a good deal. You're forgetting all the joy you gave the buyer, and that's priceless. :)
You’re absolutely right!
Love you guys! Thanks for all you teach me
