People be hating saying they don't sample, but they are using other people's drum kits extracted from samples.... My brother go to engineering schools and make your own kick drum. I'm here to gather available possible sounds to make people dance not tell people about physics of sound...

This is great stuff Mr Cabasa but I think you might be misinterpretating some of the words you used, ie sampling is typically referred to as taking some part / parts of a song directly from a previously recorded song for example burna boy sampling toni braxton for the shayo song, that was a direct sample from the original song itself, while interpolating which is what I think you mean whenever you used the word "sampling", refers to the process of taking a part of a melody from a previously recorded song but rerecording the melody instead of directly sampling it from the song. Ie what you did with the 9ice photocopy song, I don't think you actually sampled it from the song because both guitar sounded different IMO but i could be wrong. A whole lot of gems in the interview ❤❤

I think you are right. Sampling is direct copying a part which you pay royalty for, but when you increase or change tempo you are actually stealing without royalty. You can create from listening to nature, animal sounds or things. It isn't all about that one cannot create but it is a bit hard to create but it is still possible anyway.

I beg to disagree on this: creativity is all about... imagine and create something unique that has never been there(or heard of/about) not something(look-a-like)...for me that sound like(copycat/ing) no wonder why many contemporary artists sound the same...that's where many goes wrong jus coz something trending doesn't mean is a way to go...real g's they don't sample whatever comes their way for me that's a lack of creativity this is what lead a song to be remixed "thousands/times"...there's so much to discover in terms of new sounds/genres by focusing only on making money it's actually what leads the music industry in shambles(everyone wants to sound like that/one)...anyways this is my personal opinion God bless y'all
