As a disabled vet with TBI and PTSD, I live under a program called HUDVASH for homeless vets. I can tell you after being homeless for about 3 years, the program allows me to exist with a apartment. I can’t afford a car or anything really . I get enough to exist . It is just what it is. I will tell you it is my faith that keeps me here. The lord could have me today and it would be fine with me. Most morning’s I wake up thinking crap I’m still here. I have strong faith, so going heaven doesn’t scare me. What scares me, is living the rest of my life like have been, just existing. Yet, that decision is not mine to desire when my time is up. Only the Lord can say when he wants me. Just being honest.

You have learned a communicative tech. that I do not understand, and have earned the respect of a grouchy Vet., that has Combat symptoms . . .as other Vets. I differ only, in that I am a blood washed child of God, am a brother to this immigrant that is more American than many I know, and this man has taken the time to listen. More than I can say for the turd Christian credentialed, and the Pagan credentialed. God and God alone qualifies the called, and our Veterans need love, and an extended family, not more Pagan govt. Programs, that increase taxes, are too hard for Wounded Veterans to jump through the hoops, and let the Church off the hook.

She was in hiding during the war cause she was German -Polish.
She had PTSD, thunderstorm would trigger her the most, she would hide in the basement or in the hallway with all the doors closed so the couldn't see the ⚡. Had nightmares from it through out her life. I remember her telling me how happy she was when the American soldiers came. There are a lot of great charities out there Wounded Warriors,DAV & more. I buy my tshirts from Warrior Xll,that donates money to vets. But so much more should be done for them. Congress gave themselves 21% raise, that money should have gone to vets,. We were stationed all over the US and overseas. I was to young to serve but I remember the Vietnam war. At the end of the 6:00 o'clock news they would run a list of the K.I.A. and M.I.A. I remember watching the news report of Kent State. I remember Jane Fonda getting a note passed to her by a American prisoner and she took it to the enemy. The soldiers returning home was treated horribly. This guy that lived un the neighborhood fought in nam and had a Vietnamese flag that he cut off a north Vietnamese soldier he killed in hand to hand combat. He said he had to register the flag like a gun before They would let him keep it. The more things change the more they stay the same.

I'm here to say the name of my friend, Tim Neild. He succumbed to his injuries suffered many years ago. He died, and didn't realize until many years later until the day came that God told Tim to come to Him.
No one ever knew. He literally always smiled and connected with everyone he ever met. He loved his family, his community, his country, and God Himself.
For some reason, one day something happend and it wound up being too much.
    I miss my friend.
    Time Neild.
Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord
May your perpetual light shine upon him.
For his soul and the souls of all the faithfully departed
    May they rest in peace.
For Thine is the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory.
    Forever and ever!
O My God, I am heartily sorry for having offended Thee,
And I detest all my sins because of Thy just punishment.
But most of all because they offend Thee, my God,
Who art all-good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Thy grace,
To sin no more, and to avoid the near occasion of sin.
    Amen
Please God please don't punish Timothy. He never did anything he didn't believe was right.

That answer is simple, the difference is in the motives and reasons for the act. Murder is is wrong from a Biblical standpoint when it’s done with malicious intent to cause arm another for no apparent reason. But killing in the line of self defense to protect one’s own country or to save the lives of other isn’t wrong from God’s perspective. That’s why in the Old Testament you will read numerous stories about these types of killings, and many of them were carried out by God’s people.

Letting veterans become disregarded or disrespected in my opinion is one of the most disturbing things this nation has allowed to become acceptable in any manner. Anyone who treats any of our service men/women with anything other than utter respect is disgusting. We would be nothing without those who are willing to sacrifice for us to sit around in our comfortable lives saying and doing whatever we like. Our veterans should never be homeless they should never need anything they paid their dues to society if they have PTSD we as a community should help get them the proper care they need. I understand they could be dangerous and it's easier to say than do but we owe them to try it's the least we can do.

One thing to note about this video, it was only veterans helping veterans throughout the whole thing. The Civi's turned away and were disgusted. So many times a veteran can only count on another veteran.

Don't feel guilty about ignorance for this situation. They actively try to cover it up and are very good at what they do, and have decades of experience. Thank you for showcasing this video and your comments about preparing to do more to help. Some PEOPLE (yes, they're still people) really need the help.

Thing is, there's a very large and growing number of people in this country that do _not_ cherish the freedoms they have. They take them for granted, and couldn't care less as to the cost in bIood it took for them to enjoy their apathy, entitlement and ignorance.
Our country has a severe malignancy within it, and it's metastasizing. If we're not careful, it may cost us everything.

The scene at the very end was deliberate, it shows how a lot of vets succeed while other vets seem to fall through the cracks in the civilian world. You are trained to kill another human being and then spend 1-2 years on deployment constantly looking behind your back and watching your buddies' six, then you are expected to just turn off everything and be normal after the experience of combat.

We can help them by starting to hold the government accountable for their conditions and by not starting useless wars. They are broken because of politics and they are truly abused just like the police officers that see the bad side of humanity every day.

below is my copy/pasted comment from a different reaction to this song that a lot of people seemed to appreciate:
"There are 2 parts to this song that I feel like a lot of people miss of their first listen.
First, is the God/Devil gender thing. Listening to.... I hear God as the spouse you come home to. They don't recognize you because war has changed you so much. Devil is himself. He feels evil and like he is undeserving of of help or compassion.
Second, is heaven and hell. Wrong side of heaven... heaven is home. He isn't at home. He left "heaven" to defend it, so he doesn't get to experience it. Righteous side of hell.... hell is war. He's gone to war for what he sees as a righteous cause. He is defending his heaven. To keep it pure innocent and untainted."

I feel like the picture of the song is bigger than your interpretation, these men, my husband included, choose to kill and become destined for “hell” and destined to not enter “heaven” to protect the rest of us. Yes ptsd, homelessness, suicide and a multitude of other earth side conditions, but this song is speaking about the non earthly side, in my opinion. “Beware that, when fighting monsters, you yourself do not become a monster.” Friedrich Nietzsche

Pontious Pilot also got the message of Jesus, by his King aknowledement if Jesus, even if many of his own, refused him. Let us not refuse our own Veterans, nor withdraw the love of Christ, as King of our hearts, the Demons in our heads becomes less powerful. The pain will always be there, but we are not alone, and we are loved, unconditionally by God.
