There's a lot that goes into the conservation efforts of all North American wildlife. A big part of those conservation efforts goes towards controlling the population of animals. It might not make sense to you in particular to kill an animal in an effort to preserve its species or another's, but it does make sense when looking at the whole picture. Overpopulation of any individual species is no joke, and can have serious effects on the local ecosystems they live in. That's one of the main considerations of the DNR when selling hunting, fishing, and trapping licenses.
@@UA-cam.Is.Run.By.Terrorists With the continued serious decline in wildlife, id say they are doing a pretty lousy job. Fact is I think they are part of the cause.
This looked like a live trap so it could be for relocation to release in another state that wants bobcats. But they are also trapped for fur and basic wildlife management. They are not as fuzzy and friendly as you may think. Here in Kansas our fox population is nothing like it used to be since the bobcat has come back. Bobcats kill foxes to eliminate the competition. Coyote do also but they are lazier not going as far out of their way to do so. Cats and mink will kill just for the fun of it where most other predators kill when hungry. Bobcat are fierce predators
