There should be a rule where if a player makes an illegal serve a 3rd time in a set, the player loses the set. And if a player makes an illegal serve a 5th time in a match, they lose the match. Let’s see if these sort of players stop hiding their serves deliberately.
저런 선수는 영원히 퇴출시켜야 할듯. 서비스 규정은 ''애매하게 넣어도 된다''라는게 아니고, ''명확하게 리시버한테 보여야 한다''입니다. 선수로써 애매하게 넣는다는것 자체가 fault입니다.
He throws the ball up near the centre line, but by the time he has made contact with ball , it is on the edge of the table. Obviously ball not thrown vertically, and he’s turning his body to hide impact point.
Точно, он в открытую нарушает правило 2.6.2. Подающий должен подбросить мяч почти вертикально вверх, не придавая ему вращения, так, - а судьи умышленно не видят, хотят слить Ма Лонга, как в боксе.
I don't understand why u blame this player serve? Why u don't blame Wang Chu Qin?? His serve almost identical like this player. WCQ only use this serve when game point or match point

This is rampant across all tournaments, ittf should do something soon to stop this.
There have been some power struggles between personnel of the ITTF and WTT. Currently, most international events are organized by WTT, and ITTF is effectively being marginalized

Hiding the serve and not even throwing the ball straight up. its has a whole ass parabola trajectory
The ball doesn't have to go straight up, but it should be obvious that the ball is going up more than to the side, therefore his toss is fine. The only problem is the hiding.

Left hand serve...it confius ma long...full hand grip serve so hard you read amount the spin..sometimes it no spin .sometimes very heavy..

Ma Long can see the problem, but the umpire don't.
MaLong actually knows that, he is already dealing with the problems since day one, Chinese tournament level has all sorts of styles including bias services like Wang chuqin does sometime, but for the record he really has problem reading service from left handed players and players with deceptive serves like someone who recently defeated him from the Japanese team using upside down serve.

You are supposed to have your contact point be openly transparent to the receiver. If it is and you can still trick them, great for you. But the ball must be thrown up straight and not into the body where you can hide it with your non paddle arm. I’m not certain when they changed it, but back in Waldner’s day it was very common to see.
@@whatevereyewant Since August 2002 it's illegal to hide the ball while serving. The decision was made in April 2002. In 2023 the official rule is: "From the start of service until it is struck, the ball [...] shall not be hidden from the receiver by the server or his or her doubles partner or by anything they wear or carry."
(By the way: Ma Long also tends to hide his serves behind his head.)
It’s the camera angle. If Ma Long stands more to his right he could see the ball actually.

only the server have to serve according to the law.
It do not mention whether the receiver can see the ball or not...
If Ma Long sees an ilegal serve he will simply go and complain to the umpire, he will do it for sure he doesnt hesitate to complain against his opponents. I think the title should be Ma Long had troubles returning the serve, he has troubles reading Lin Yun-ju' serves too.
