Thanks for this video, it’s refreshing to hear from someone who creates without inhibitions. I’m attempting to be more relaxed myself and not fret about blobs and blotches, while trying to critique more effectively. I only recently bought my first RJ Hampson book, the hardback version of A Frog’s Tale, and will definitely buy Around the World.

I've been admiring your pages on Instagram for ages but I love seeing the 'behind the scenes'. I'm a big fan of texture also- exactly as you shared. the randomness of different mediums used on different papers. I think we share the same philosophy about coloring and enjoying our hobby and having fun with it. wonderful pages... Cant wait to see how you do the rest!

OMG, your book look like my books!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I LOVE when they get messy and banged up,it shows they are loved and that I've had good fun in them. Plus I adore the crinkly sound watercoloured pages make. Yesyesyes, please make a video of you colouring!! Of course now after watching your video I feel like it might be fun to make some videos as well, we could share the process😂😂
Yes! That is a fabulous idea, I’d love to watch how you do your magic (especially with those paint pens 😁). I’m glad you enjoyed it, and that you are a fellow book destroyer! I hope that I might encourage other colourists to have fun experimenting and try using supplies in different ways.

I really like your approach to colouring because it is the same as mine : heavy handed, no plan but let it just happen in the mood of the moment, lots of texture in the elements and crinkly pages. Plus your videography is good. I can see the pages well, your comments are thoughtful and your voice is well modulated. Subscribed and looking forward to seeing videos of your colouring. Cheers!

One of the reasons I love all markers so much is that they really speed the process up - it satisfies my needs of enjoying the process itself because it’s all about the colour for me, but they can produce good results on a budget and I can get through the many pages of the growing collection of books a little faster 😁

Hi hun, OMG I’ve just come across ya video. I’m so pleased that ya now doing UTube, I’m eager to go to ya previous videos. Your talent is amazing and I’ve always loved all your colouring pages over the years - we did a Buddy Colour the dolls house in Kerbys WWW. Hope you have been keeping well n your lovely family. I can’t wait to watch you colour a page as your so talented and I’d love to learn to basically not over think my Kerby pages. Today is my 1st day in getting back to my colouring, stopped for about 5/6 months due to health n life, but I’m getting there n colouring has always been my safe place n helps with my mental health- colouring is fun and I’m so chuffed to hear ya voice n now get to watch you grow on UTube ya gonna smash it hun. I’m sorry to hear you’ve had health issues but glad to hear you are returning to colouring ❤️ I’ve been collecting ideas for videos from comments, so I will definitely do a Kerby page when I get time - my current goal is to finish Around the World and then broaden my focus 😁 I hope you find some useful tips because markers are a game-changer in Kerby books, they save so much time and can still create a great page. Hi 1st i want to say how much I appreciate you taking the time to help us newbie colorers! Id be lost tryingto start a page on my own! Lol
Anyways I wanted to tell you I saw a post where a girl discbound all her coloring books. Yes, its time consuming at first BUT You can organize them however you want! I use 2 diff. Size disc, depending on what sie the book is. That way you can take out whatever page your working on, and wont affect the rest of your pages. Some books I leave alone if have thinner paper. For instance I dont do my Creative Haven books. I ALSO found some scrapbook albums at a thrift store and bought extra pages and thats where i keep myfinished pics or close to it. Especially if has textures (glitter etc) so just thought Id share my ideas with ya!

You are so welcome! I hope I’ve given you some ideas to get started in RJ’s books….I tend to think about how childrens books are illustrated when I am colouring his books - lots of bright, vibrant colour and don’t worry too much about perfect shading etc. Just have fun 😊
I like how you colored the frog's skin. I would watch you color this if you put it in a color along video :)

No, I don’t have any hardcovers - I like his recent books having the slightly altered second set of images because it gives a bit of choice to which one I prefer to colour first 👍 Thank you for watching and commenting 😊
Hi! I just found you and i like your coloring a lot!! I hear you talking about the finished book and never open it for a while, maybe itis a nice idea to put all your coloring photo’s on a digital photo frame?
That’s an interesting idea 👍 I have the images on Instagram to look at if I feel like going back and checking something, but I don’t even do that very often. I think it’s the process that gives me most joy and once it’s done, I move on to the next picture. Its just using the colours and supplies that gives me a sense of satisfaction and creativity.
