Derek, your comment about people playing with us is true, my buddy on vacation in Destin last year got a few rolls of pennies and tossed them around. I stayed away from where i figure he tossed them but later that night it kept a few guys quite busy.
6:32 I have noticed the D2 coil covers leave some room for improvement. Sharp edges that could have been bevel chamfered. End result in very little time the coil cover takes on a lot of impact marks and scuffing looking well used in very little time. They could have easily just left the charge port area with sharp edges to aid in holding the charge clip and cleaned up the rest of the design. The top side of the coil cover also needs some improvement as it scoops a lot of sand making for a dirty coil. Do we expect changes on the coil cover design for the Deus II? Absolutely not, it cost too much to make a new mold but it is a scuff plate so somewhat a consumable part that can be easily exchanged in the future… it’s odd as detail orientated XP is they didn’t improve the coil cover design. The SW design team didn’t spend much time with their prototypes over the beach sand apparently is that this tells me. But hey if this is rather minor stuff as long as the electronics are solid over time 🤙 Cheers, #SeattleRingHunter
Everyday I am falling more in love with this machine. I like so many things the small things are getting smaller. You are correct with sand buildup under the coil.
Hey Derrick. Loved the discussion with Terry Shannon about thresholds. I've punished myself and my nox 800 in Florida and Dominican just to learn the machine. I'd love to dive into more about your take on threshold if you have time. As always; thanks for what you do.
Thanks Derek for posting your hunt and D2 info. At this point completely torn between an older, solid Excal or a high tech delicate D2 for underwater/dive hunting. Any advice? The Nox is solid but limited to 6ft and has issues of taking on water. Thanks brother, keep up the great work 🤙🏽
Yes people do like to throw pennies out like pigeon feed for the detectorists, I've seen it enough times. Once although I had entertaining himself by tossing quarters in my way as I went .. yes quarters! I pretended not to notice what he was doing and just quickly detected/scooped them up and kept moving with no reaction at all. I walked away with a couple dollar$ of his in about 3 minutes. I wonder if he was laughing at me as hard as I was at him. Always an adventure.
Does Detector pro even make waterproof Deus headphones yet? With the new ones you just got, is the audio nice and clear, my old ones I bought years ago were awful, thanks
Do you find that the antenna is absolutely necessary when hunting damp/wet sand? I'm researching these to purchase one and that's what I've heard. Thank you.
I have the corded ones. Love those headphones.
1973! Our son Shannon was born May 31st. Thanks for the video.

That machines 'reactivity' or separation/recovery speed is incredible.

Yes! I found a collection of pop rivets
I’d be happy if they tossed quarters!
Lots of coins for the day. Oh and you were working your way into the water not up the beach on that coin hoard. Good hunt brother.

Only if you will have waves or underwater for over a few seconds. As soon as the coil gets submerged it loses signal. 😉
All that change I'm guessing someone blew up there kids piggy bank
