This would have been a very helpful video when I first got into fountain pens in a serious way with the Noodler's Konrad! I made a lot of mistakes as I slowly found my way.
thanks! this video helped me with my dirty Konrad. how did you get rid of the smell of the pen? I love it but it's hard to use because I can't get over the smell, someone told me to put it under UV light and it helped a little but it still has a strong smell
I've had mine for a few years so the smell is hardly noticeable. I've never done the UV light trick seeing as how that can oxidize the ebonite feed and I imagine it would weaken the vegetal resin. Mine is stored in a cedar cigar box and I'm not sure if the cedar absorbed the smell or it just masked it but I hardly notice it anymore. It's the same for my Ahab and another model I can't remember the name of. I store all the smelly pens in that box and the smell dissipates.
There are two great joys of Noodlers pens that other pens fail to deliver. Ultimate “tinkerability” and the near guarantee of inky fingers. Ridiculous good value.
@@juicylouisey Thank you for your comment. Yes, Noodler's make pens that are for the enthusiast that wants to go deeper in the hobby without paying an arm & a leg.
Same exact thing happened to me!

I hope it helps someone. That was the whole aim of the video. 😊

Apologies for the audio. I did not realize my mic became unclipped from its position causing some rustling noise in certain sections of the video.
