- We've sorta kinda been waiting 8 years for this "new" song to come out. However, its not exactly new. They debuted the song 7 or 8 years back live and there's been a recording of it for at least 7 years. Plus, Yoshiki has performed it a few times, including one video where he sings the song. So, while not exactly new, this recording with X and Toshi is new.
Its a good song. Lovely melody. Sad and beautiful lyrics.

I think "Angel" would have been a more dramatic song if it had a guitar solo.
But YOSHIKI didn't need a guitar solo for this song.
If YOSHIKI needs a guitar solo, he says, "Hey, SUGIZO, play the guitar solo for this song," as he did with "Red Swan."
YOSHIKI now intentionally keeps his self-assertiveness on guitar and bass as low as possible, and tends to keep his band sound simple.
Despite having unique guitarists SUGIZO and MIYAVI, THE LAST ROCK STARS' 1st SINGLE didn't make use of their guitars at all.
However, in the song "Kiss The Sky", which is scheduled to be included in the X JAPAN album, I am looking forward to hearing the guitar and bass solos that make you feel "Rose Of Pain".
It seems that YOSHIKI made the bass phrase like TAIJI that can be heard in this song. You can check the demo sound source in the video below.
