- Todays video is a special one for me. not only do I land a shore caught shark (Tope) but it is also a dedication to my father in law that we sadly lost to MND a couple of weeks ago.
Sea Fishing in the UK has really started picking up with some great specimen fish being landed. Not only have we had mackerel in Barry but there have been tope caught not far off either.
Pinnacle Angling keeps growing strength to strength and I would like to thank you all for joining me on my journey.

Loved the video, Matt and the tope was special along with the smoothies. That estuary is noted for the tope turning up and back in the '50 +' 60s the veteran school teacher, Clive Gammon and marine biologist would fish the Bury Holmes estuary mouth at low tide and was brilliant at catching tope and other species. On some sessions he would catch on mackerel and blank on the tope other days. When he did land a Tope he gutted it to find out what the fish had been feeding on and discovered a belly full of small flounders. Hence why they turn up on that estuary. Fished CefnSidan decades ago and always got wound up by Clive about our trips. A brilliant all round angler who spent time in the USA. He published some great books along with the Welsh sea angling guide. Rip Clive. ❤😊
Thank you for the informative comment, Fredrick. I have also been told there is a bay at West Hook where Tope are caught using Flounder in and around the early autumn.
I will look into to Clive and his literature this weekend.

Condolences on your loss. What a fish though!!! Congratulations on the end of your 4 year hunt. I've had great success on ur 4/0 circles lately, imo the best circles on the marked. Will be ordering some line shortly to give a go with a hoody and cap. Tight lines 🎣😊
