    The slate is also known as a Schalie color.
    Looks like your putting a decent team of young birds together.
    I hope all goes well with your yearlings training, one word of advice with them, don't be in a hurry, it's better to miss the first race or two if they're not coming well in training than push them to soon and lose them.

      Good advice, both old birds and young birds out together until they're stronger on the wing. Loose less this way off the loft. Let OB's out on their own first then when landed, let the yb's out with them 🤔 Brilliant channel this always look forward to the next one, good luck everyone for 2023 ✊

    Let them out through open doorway in a small back garden loft traps and sputnicks are okay for late comers . And have them hungry also put a plywood sheet landing board five x. Five half inch thick on post in front of trapping Aviery . Good luck glenny.

    It’s all about quality over quantity. I’ve only got 12 cocks and 15 hens for old ones and that is plenty

    The color is called slate or schalie and it means the bird has some heavy Janssen up close.

Make them a trap when they go out to from the loft ! From your loft they go directly out ! Hope to meet u one day mate , you’re welcome in Belgium whenever you want ! Greets Alex 👊

    Nice little team coming along lovely, I wouldn't let them have a bath out side until there strong on the wing Dan, because if they get a fright and bash off and being wet they mite drop into a neighbour's garden and end up being dog meat 😢. The trow back Dave gave you is a slate, there lovely when they moult out as will the mealy be also.
    How many do you have??, And nfo you plan on splitting them into two teams for each half of the young bird season ??

    • @howtotrainyourpigeon
      @howtotrainyourpigeon  Рік тому +1

      Thought it might be a slate. Got about 40 and although they're in separate sections I don't think I'll race them differently. I don't think I'll have the time with cocks, hens and two teams of YBs then filming it all too 🤣

      @@howtotrainyourpigeon Dan I'm not trying to put the Jonah's on you, but you're old bird season mite be over half way through, with the young birds ready to start training a few weeks later, and if you did split them and as I said last year, if the first rounders start to loose form less than half way through you then have the second team to come in and take over and stop the first round and then you all ready have X amount to put away for yearlings, they can only peak and hold form for so long before they fall away, you can train the second round with the first round say 3 weeks after the first race and they will go back into there own side of the loft bar an odd 1, but that's easy spotted and sorted, and you can race them untill there head starts going bald or up to there say 6th flight towards the top, you have loads of options Dan, and with all the training you will see it's not that bad and easy to integrate a second team with the first team starting to slow down and loose form. Lads in my old club always had a second team as they had a big loft unlike me, but they had teams of 100 down wards, you're looking at 20 and 20 or maybe a few more in you're second round if you get more, can you do a video of both sections and let's see the space you have and how you have set up the perches please and thanks DES 🕊️🕊️🤔😁
