- If you're STi swapping a Subaru Impreza from the 90's, retrofitting the dash can be intimidating. The goal of this video is to take your step by step on how to do this dash swap and make it a breeze. Nothing good is "easy" but you should have the info you need to get the job done after this.

The 2.5 RS was produced Through 2005. In the 2006 model year the name was changed to the 2.5i

Love the build so far man. Are you planning to put a roll cage in? @9:45 when you hammer in the dash crash bar, it’s lost its structural integrity for a side impact now and will bend like a taco :/. But I completely understand why ya did it to fit.

Obv yeah the engine and driveline got nuts on, but it’s a 97 car, I just don’t get the appeal of putting parts or a dash from another car that doesn’t belong in it

I got my 2005 blob eye sti in Platinum Silver built by good speed performance based off your videos and mentioned you to them!
@@TheHDInstinct Without getting overly defensive of a project like this there are fewer and fewer of these cars on the road. As an owner of a 99 WRX I know the struggles of keeping the older stuff running, just takes a bit of effort finding crashed cars instead of running and driving ones BUT fully understand why he is doing this.
I think what I originally wrote explains itself. I’ve already done everything you’re doing to this car to my first coupe.
Dash swaps suck.
Dash swapping is just a lazy way to swap a first gen.
And no “Cole T” you don’t know anything about me. I’ve already done this swap before. I also used an 05 STi donor car. But my car still has the proper dashboard. And functional AC with an original uncut firewall.
I get that you’re a fan and wanna white knight for Cameron. But you sound ridiculous jumping to that conclusion without any basis.
