I am very, very biased...but not only do i disagree about having blue sphere anywhere close to this list, you guys failed at describing how you get to it, the importance to the story and endgame content, and what exactly you do in the stages. Its well programmed and considered one of the best special stage layouts in a series famous for special stages, and if you needed to slap Sonic in here, you can pick much better options.
@@z216ghost it unlocked a game breaking super form, you need some sense of challenge. And they give you plenty of chances to redo stages. If anything, that makes them one of the better crafted bonus stages in ANY game. Not one of the worst of all time.

The Blue Sphere stages in Sonic are great! Fans have not only held them in high regard for years but they've also been begging for them to come back, and they did in Sonic Mania and they were great there too. They have the perfect amount of challenge as the game speeds up the longer you take, and its especially difficult if you want to get a Perfect by getting all the rings too. It can be hard but never unfair, the controls feel tight but not uncontrollable. Plus the music is great too, and the colourful 3D visuals actually look pretty nice and aren't too much of an eyesore. Honestly I feel you guys take any opportunity you can to say anything remotely negative about Sonic. Why?

The Sonic3&knuckles 3D stages were difficult because once you had all the chaos emeralds and super chaos emeralds and went Hyper Sonic you were basically invincible. Obviously the developers would want that to be difficult. I love the bonus stages

I personally adore Sonic 3(&K's) blue sphere special stages, I feel like most people who genuinely dont like/hate them dont fully understand how they work, but then Ive met people that have said that Sonic 2's half-pipe special stage are outrageously difficult, the hardest in all mainline Sonic games, and Ive literally never ever had trouble with those, I've played them so much I almost cant ever fail them. Although there is the argument to be made about half-pipe special stage #4(easily the worst one of all), and its strict ring count. Tmv~

The Cave Story level makes me think there should just be a list of the most challenging bonus dungeons in games. "Total Pandemonium" from Muramasa the Demon Blade comes to mind.

Andy Asteroids was a lot of fun for me when I was a kid and I might recall it wrong, but I remember that when you loose a race against Psycrow, you will have to fight him afterwards and not restart the race ? I also never managed to get the pocket rocket to explode. Also the Animal Buddy Levels made a lot of fun in Donkey Kong Country and still are fun at least for me today. Maybe it is because of childhood nostalgia.

The NES version of Gauntlet's bonus levels were hard to find,harder to finish,and you had to finish all of them to get the code needed to truly finish the game. You got use to the bad guy laughing at you and saying "You'll never get the Orb now!" after you failed.
Donkey Kong Country is the best trilogy of games ever (we don't talk about 64, that's garbage and shouldn't be considered in the same ballpark as good games). That said, the animal buddy bonus stages in the first game are some of the worst stuff in a game. Complete dross. To the point I don't know of anyone who collects the tokens to start the levels. I'll actively avoid collecting them in every instance. It's just a way to gain lives which are easy enough to gain during normal gameplay. Utter waste of time. Now, the bonus stages in 2 and 3 are beautifully done and are an example to every game released after on how to do them right.

Unlocking Green Hill Zone in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle was a total let down. Working too hard to get all A ranks in all the missions and GHZ is barren and boring IMO

my 2 top worst bonus level are the "Rivals" mission from 'Advance Wars', and Sniping level from time crisis 3. the Rivals mission back then only unlocked when you pick eagle as your side wing in last mission. after beat the big bad guy, Eagle challenge you to fight him in last battle. and in Rivals, hes fuck hard. you only have 2 base and few cities, when eagle have dozen of cities, couple of base, and infantry that about to take an airport. and in hardmode? its not hard anymore, its just straight up impossible without good RNG. he will fuck you up. and the second one, the sniping stage in time crisis 3. unless you play on arcade or have huge Crt TV. its going to be impossible to spot the enemies
Of so many games I've played through my life, I've never minded bonus levels too much, except for original Shinobi, I always hated it so much I wanted to skip rescuing the hostage that gave it to you on each level

To be fair, the whole of Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories was just one big annoying bonus level with mechanics that no one asked for and added in a load of cutscenes that you needed to watch to get a somewhat better understanding of what was going on at the beginning of KH2

Objection! At least the blue bonus spheres aren’t horrible to work with than Sonic 2’s Half Pipe Stages, where you can’t see most of the time because of the angle!
Also, Sonic 3 has a save system, which means you have multiple times to defeat the bonus stages. Sonic 2? Nope. PLUS, no one remembers, unless debugging, no Super at the final boss. Sonic 3? I rest my case. Plus, there’s a hidden final boss with Super Hyper Sonic when both 3&K are together.

A 'cinnamon roll' is a term used to describe a sweet or wholesome character that you'd want to protect or hug. Usually they are kind/heroic archetypes that are good-natured and adorable. Ling Xiaoyu from the Tekken series is a good example from a fighting game. She is a bubbly, twin-tailed school girl with a cute design and a peppy demeanor. She stands out especially when contrasted with some of the other nastier, more ferocious characters from that game; (ancient devils, a psychotic, zombie, cyborg, ruthless, sexy mercenaries, ... a damn bear etc.) By comparison, she comes off as precious and 'too good for this sinful world'.

Yeah this is one of the stranger videos in regards to opinions. Everything said for the SMB3 one felt like they were looking for reasons to hate it while they were playing. No offense to the compiler for this list, but it’s one of the weaker ones.
Objection! At least the blue bonus spheres aren’t horrible to work with than Sonic 2’s Half Pipe Stages, where you can’t see most of the time because of the angle!
Also, Sonic 3 has a save system, which means you have multiple times to defeat the bonus stages. Sonic 2? Nope.
PLUS, no one remembers, unless debugging, no Super at the final boss. Sonic 3? I rest my case. Plus, there’s a hidden final boss with Super Hyper Sonic when both 3&K are together.

I'm assuming cinnamon roll is a term I don't know. I would like to see a list of actual cinnamon rolls in all games.
A 'cinnamon roll' is a term used to describe a sweet or wholesome character that you'd want to protect or hug. Usually they are kind/heroic archetypes that are good-natured and adorable. Ling Xiaoyu from the Tekken series is a good example from a fighting game. She is a bubbly, twin-tailed school girl with a cute design and a peppy demeanor. She stands out especially when contrasted with some of the other nastier, more ferocious characters from that game; (ancient devils, a psychotic, zombie, cyborg, ruthless, sexy mercenaries, ... a damn bear etc.) By comparison, she comes off as precious and 'too good for this sinful world'.
