Thank You for this! George Harrison was incredibly talented, spiritual, and had a brilliant dry sense of humor as well. Such a lovely talented man. One of a kind treasure....
A masterpiece. He’s telling his band how under appreciated he feels while playing with them. More importantly, he’s telling them he’s good. And oh, how great and talented George Harrison was. He was an under appreciated treasure while with this band. I know you can’t play the entire album (All Things Must Pass), his tour de force, but please play the hits from the album. I would also suggest you play the entire double album for yourself. George Harrison had the most unique and beautiful voice.
JoAnn, we need to talk. You are very insightful and nailed it on the head. George was so under-rated as a song writer and a player. See his posthumous induction to the R&R Hall of Fame with Prince. And just like the rest of us you will be intrigued by Prince's solo, but when he throws the guitar in the air at the end, where does it go? Keep it up with your fantastic observations. You are a breath of fresh air.
One of the top 5 of all the Beatles songs ever. What would it have been like to have 4 musical geniuses in one band ? The great George Harrison shows just what he’s made of. My favorite Beatle has always been George. He had more friends than all the others combined. I miss him so much.
A George Harrison masterpiece. He is very under appreciated. His genius is right up there with his bandmates. The best band on the planet. I would recommend “Oh Darlin” from the Abbey Road album. Nice reaction🌺✌️💐
George didn't feel as though John and Paul were taking this song seriously enough in the studio. So he invited his friend Eric Clapton to come in and play guitar on it, and that made John and Paul sit up and take notice.
His lyrics were so relevant. This describes his feelings for the other Beatles. His attempts to contribute his songs were so often rejected by John and Paul, which is why his first solo album was a triple album chuck full of incredible material...
It really is phenomenal that the Beatles became THIS group, from the one they were in Liverpool, and in only a span of about 7 years... I think they're only going to become more and more popular as people today discover how much better they are than what is out there now...
So true. Their evolution over those few short years was staggering. They would do anything that worked, regardless of genre or precedent, and in so doing opened doors for musicians everywhere.
A good example of how the bass guitar plays into the kick drum. As originally mixed in 1968, the snare beat is missing at 7:49 - 7:50. Thanks for sharing.
George Harrison the quiet genius who wrote some of the greatest Beatles songs ever! “Something” was considered by Frank Sinatra, the greatest love song!
Great review Dub...another good Beatles song is Back in the USSR...faster tempo. In later years, he was part of the Traveling Wilburys...nothing but talent...💕☘️
Very cool reaction! I love George Harrison. This is one of his best songs. He was allotted only 1-2 songs per album; most were Lennon/McCartney songs (hey, I love them all). When The Beatles broke up, George must've had a trunkful of great songs, because the first solo album he dropped was an honest-to-God GOAT masterpiece.
Harrison recorded multiple takes of that lead guitar track but wasn't happy with any of them. He asked Clapton to come in and record it. Clapton resisted at first because he didn't think the Beatles really needed a session musician on their album but he eventually agreed to do it only if it was kept secret. It wasn't until decades later that it was finally revealed that Clapton recorded the guitar solo.
Three of George Harrison’s compositions were three of the Beatles’ biggest hits…this song here, “Something “ and “Here Comes the Sun”. His first solo double album, “All Things Must Pass”, is a masterpiece. Check out “Awaiting On You All”, “Beware of Darkness”, “What Is Life”, “Isn’t it a Pity”, and “Behind that Locked Door”. The lyrics are deep and meaningful.
My mom was 13 when they came over. Needless to say, I was force fed their entire catalogue. I'm not a huge Beatles fan myself, but they are the greatest. Every song triggers a memory from my childhood.
Was brought to your channel by Blondie "Rapture" and I'm really digging all of your videos. Love how you give respect to the music and your appreciation of very diverse artists. Plus I LOVE your Tupac poster in the background. You're Cool and I'm definitely subscribing.
Yeah good stuff indeed! At the latest Beatles tribute Prince played lead at the end throwing his guitar up in his he air , it never fell back to earth, implying that George who wrote the song caught it from beyond. An excellent rendition of the song it should be easy to find.
Dub OMG I love this song so much. It’s number three on my top five songs of all time that I love. George Harrison he is my favorite Beetle.( Here comes the sun) is one of my favorite Beatles songs. For George Harrison solo songs, you should hear his song (My sweet Lord). I’m not sure which sound you were talking about it’s either Paul McCartney‘s voice or Eric Clapton‘s guitar. Loved your reaction made my day even better😀👍❤️✌️🌼
Seen Clapton twice and Sir Paul once, during the making of this song, the Beatles who were one of the Top bands on the planet said when Clapton came in they all sat up a little straighter and worked a little harder because it was Clapton!
There were a couple versions of this song performed as tributes to George after he passed away. I believe one was when he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You should react to the one with Prince playing the final guitar solo. At the end he throws the guitar up and... it never came down. People who were on the stage at the time still say they don't know how Prince did that or what happened to it.
I don't care what anyone says this in my opinion is the most significant solo that Eric Clapton has ever done, and one of the best songs George Harrison has ever written.

George was criminally underrated as a guitarist.
The great George Harrison on vocals with legend Eric Clapton on lead guitar. One of the best ever.
Thanks for watching
Eric is surely making it "weep".
With Paul McCartney on piano and backup vocals, John Lennon on bass, and Ringo Starr on drums..
It’s always interesting watching one one from your generation listen to the Beatles. Make no mistake, there was the Beatles, and then everyone else
This song makes me feel like Eric's guitar is singing with George. Love the emotions you can feel from both.
George Harrison paints absolutely beautiful pictures with his lyrics and guitar playing. He is my favorite Beatle.
Yes 🙌

George didn't feel as though John and Paul were taking this song seriously enough in the studio. So he invited his friend Eric Clapton to come in and play guitar on it, and that made John and Paul sit up and take notice.

That's a 'weeping guitar' at the end courtesy of Eric Clapton with George Harrison making vocal weeping sound.
