Still beautiful. I grew up in Forest Hills - lived there from 1940 to 1964. Went to Public School 101, "The School in the Gardens." I was so fortunate.

(3:51)..Our mom lived here on Station Square at the Forest Hills Inn. She loved the feeling and vibe. The woman who owned her apartment was a doll, and gave her a very cheap, (senior adjusted) rent, where mom lived with her kitties in coziness, privacy, and independence for a very long time...When she wanted to come into town, she walked up and got on the LIRR and was at 34th Street in zip time...Mom is in Heaven now. She passed peacefully at 95 - in Jun 2017 - but today happens to be her 102....!!
Why do all the Arabs insist on writing in Arabic under the videos that are in English? They think the world revolves around them and expect everyone to understand their cryptic script.
I enjoy your videos... Suburbs, trees, nice quiet side streets and close to stores, Doctors etc with out being in the crowded city. ..the people walking around, talking all mix's together for a very relaxing setting. THANK YOU
I’m Dutch and although I have a wonderful life here in the Netherlands, this is a nice peek into the great life of others across the ocean. At least of their beautiful houses. Live long and prosper everybody!
Strolling through Forest Hills Gardens in Queens, NYC, feels like discovering a hidden gem within the bustling city! This video beautifully captures the serene streets, lush greenery, and charming architecture that make this neighborhood so unique. It's a refreshing escape from the city's hustle and bustle, showcasing a side of New York that many don't get to see. Thank you for sharing this delightful and tranquil experience!" 🌳🏡🗽
I used to live on Long Island, and I would take the LIRR to go into the city. On occasion I transferred at Forest Hills and while waiting for the next train I would look down at that little town center below. I always wanted to take a tour of the neighborhood, because of the interesting aesthetics of the town. I never got the chance to do so before I moved. Thank you for doing this.
What a great place in the 🇺🇸! It is comforting to know there’re still places like this outside of major cities there… this neighborhood reminds me to my hometown in Buenos Aires - Argentina🇦🇷: it is called Ciudad Jardín Lomas del Palomar (the 1st Garden City in South America), it’s like a public gated community, and surrounded by The National Military Lyceum, train stations, and El Palomar Stellantis automobile factory. There are plenty of videos to enjoy online whoever wants to see! 😉
When I was a kid, either the barber shop or pastry joint used to be a comicbook shop. The shop moved onto to Queens Blvd, by the theatre, before going out of business. Used to get on the E or F at 169 and get off ant 71st and Continental. Shout out to the old New York!
I live in “The Gardens” and it’s beautiful every season. Because we have the densest tree cover of any part of New York City outside of our parks the Fall leaf colors can be fantastic but we have to sweep a lot of leaves, especially because our sewers are smaller than the rest of the NYC area. The winter snow cover makes the community look magical, especially at night under the muted street lights. There is also Christmas carols by the Square on Christmas Eve with a Santa Claus parading through the neighborhood.
Thank you for this superb video of another side of New York So peqceful..quiet. I wonder...are you strolling using a motorbike? Lovely scenes where you sometimes make a close up of it. ❤
@@strollingthecity Wow.. sounds something I don't know about.. but it's a brilliant idea.. capturing scenes while weaving in and out of traffic and lanes.. 😊

..the Baskin and Robbins was on the corner of Ascan Ave and Austin St, Austin St is one of the main shopping streets in Forest Hills..I’ve been blessed and fortunate enough to have lived in Forest Hills Gardens since 1968 and it’s hard to compare any other residential part of the city to it..a few other places outside of Manhattan come close but without as much of the Tudor architecture..this video is a great introduction to the area..stay strong
I always wondered the kinds of people that lived in these homes. Everything so upkept but you never seen anyone outside cleaning or leaving, I always thought they were model homes as a kid in the 90s lol
I live in this community. Some of the families are wealthy but you would be surprised how many are more upper middle class folks who work very hard at well paying professions. Also, some are actually only real estate wealthy but lived on fixed income, such as widows. My next door neighbor lived on Social Security only, as her partner let her live in the house after he died.

Do you know any of the Ramones
This area looks like a fairytale. It's an enormous privilege to live in such wonderful area full of greenery.
Malba looks way better
@@melg6834 IMO, the stately Tudors and Georgian revivals in FHG are much nicer than the gaudy mcmansions in Malba.

I'm finally getting to see this place. Wonderful; Queens is my favorite borough!🤫
I am from Flushing, a town with its own personality and interesting, but Forest Hills is just amazing!
NYC - A beautiful city on Earth. I hope I can visit it once in my life.
The way you showcase the majestic animals in their natural habitats is both educational and inspiring.

maybe early 70s

No parece Nueva York, sino un barrio de europa...muy lindo.
Hats off to the Dutch. The people of Amsterdam, for their good sense of urban living.
Too crowded for me. Do houses here have no garages? Why is every one parked in the streets?
Wow I live at forest hill
